I'd prefer to win the league but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't much matter whether we finish 1st or 2nd
The issue isn’t whether he was a great player or not. The issue is, it’s not a bright thing to do to sell a player to a promotion rival. It’s idiotic.
His goals gave Luton breathing space, without which they might have conceded one. It's a schoolboy error giving our main rivals a player who can be useful.
He scored against Portsmouth. If he hadn't they would have drawn not won, so if it wasn't for his goal we would be two points closer to them.
We didn't give him to Luton we got money for him. Really can't see the problem with that decision when he wasn't performing for us.
Some of their fans think he's a great impact sub and want him to be starting games. Hope he does, then they'll realise why he's there and not here.
That'll make his two games against Wycombe this season his best for Luton plus one of the most abject workshy disinterested waste-of-space capitulations that I've ever seen in a red shirt. The latter made Dion Burton look dynamic. Good riddance to 'garbage-time' George.
Who has said we're missing him. It's his contribution for the only team above us that's an annoyance.
No we played him as a winger, his best position was as a no10 just behind the CF, where he plays for Luton. Hence the goals. I sometimes wonder whether many of the people posting on here ever played the game.
There was no room for him with us. He isn't taking anything from us by leaving. As stated our goal difference this match was the same as were the points won.
I liked George even for accounting for the fact that his stamina levels left a lot to be desired. He chose to turn down the opportunity to extend his contract with the team that in all probability will end up as League One Champions, so we really had no option but to sell him. His only consolation is, that Luton are likely to be in a strong position to finish as runners up.
