I'd much rather have a talented player who was fit enough. Do you honestly think Moncur's fitness is acceptable? Hendrie and Shipperley could both last a full game. Moncur can't run 40 yards without being knackered.

Moncur seems to be everyone’s scape goat today although he was more effective than everyone’s bum boy Kieffer Moore today. Just because George doesn’t run round like an headless chicken, like the latter, he’s suddenly useless

The lad has undoubted talent but in my opinion is wasted in his current position. He’s better playing off the striker or as a striker. That’s where he played his best football for Colchester.

Moncur as a striker would be hilarious.

Me too, but i'd rather have an unfit talented player than a fit untalented one. Anyway, no resolving this argument, good night. x

Moncur has had a good month. He isn’t fit enough to last a whole game. That’s **** but the Head Coach is aware of it and should have plans in place to replace him after 60 minutes.

Wow. Unreal. Only on the BBS could a super fan defend a professional footballer for being unfit.

I too have concerns over moncur’s fitness.

But are you seriously going to accuse him of jumping out of tackles and having the heart of a pea, and then in the same breath say Zeki Fryers has work ethic?

    Watch their second goal today.

I’d have got back quicker - and I’m physically unable to run.

    He’s not bothered.

I wonder if instead of boots we gave him a pair of roller skates? Or just put him on casters?

I could forgive him the wank hair the wanky boots and the generic arms covered in biro look if he was any good, unfortunately he is utterly garbage

No idea what a "super fan" is but not sure I'm one. This isn't gonna lead to another thread about how hench you are again is it? What do you think his measurements are?

Waste of a shirt for me, is completely spent after 45 mins also a passenger in the side when we don't have possession. In league one he may do enough on the ball to warrant selection. In our situation we can't afford to go down to 10 men every time we lose the ball.
I said it past week he annoys me more than any other player in our squad. He clearly has ability but doesn't seem to want to work to back it up.

Not a case of running around like a headless chicken. The last few games I have really watched him when we don't have the ball.

Performance has on the whole been ok for the last month. Fitness takes longer to get right. The HC has got performance out of Moncur but must be aware that fitness still needs work.

Fryers ‘effort’ to get back for their second goal should mean he never plays for us again. Imo.

Performs well with the ball. Without he does nothing and i feel he doesn't offer enough with the ball to warrant that luxury. Unfortunately we have very few options.

I also made a point of keeping an eye on him and I agree that the headless chicken comparison is incorrect. I've no axe to grind where Moncur is concerned, but as soon as Potts went off Moncur became a liability. We can't afford to have a player with no defensive capabilities whatsoever in a two man midfield. You have to fight your way out of the drop zone and Moncur isn't that kind of player. That doesn't make him a bad player, just the wrong one for us at this point in time. Unfortunately Jose's midfield options are becoming increasingly limited.

If Jackson hadn't gone off, Pinnock might have been a better replacement for Potts, which would have kept the 433 shape and left Moncur doing the role that suits him better. Oh well. Onward and upwards...Still four games left and all to play for.

Ah this again. Perhaps his best position is Colchester
