We are loyal customers, not investors.

We (Or at least I) don't support the club on the off chance that they will win the premiership. I support them because they are my club.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your points, I just think we're more on the 'customer' scale than the 'investor' scale, and I don't think we need to know about the club's inner workings or accounts.

Why do we have to be one or the other?

You can support the club without paying a single penny to them(in theory), in which case would only make you a supporter.

But as supporters, most of us choose to support the club financially by buying tickets and merchandise, which also make us(by the definition of the word)customers...

What's it got to do with renewing your season ticket?
You fail to see why the CEO of the company I have invested a mortgage payment in leaving without a word would be important to me? Fair enough but I kind of like to see some assurances that my hard earned and valuable money isn't going to go up in smoke.

Yes I can't see why the management structure of the business would be anything to do with you

To answer with a question, in your opinion, what is the nature of the transaction when you pay for your shopping at Asda ?
