If true then good luck to SW and CH. They've contributed massively and more than likely helped significantly to maintain our goal this season of survival. However I do actually think we've seen the best of them, and the form they've shown they will struggle to recreate for that lot. They haven't been playing for the shirt, for the love of the club, they have been playing out of their skins to earn a big money contract with another club and looks like they've managed it. We've certainly benefited from it. Be interesting to see if they will show the same desire now. The way we are doing things is in my opinion quite commendable - were basically forcing players to perform and show how good they are before they earn big money. It's all about money now for footballers, not who's the best but who's got the biggest wages - we are not bowing down to that and I absolutely ****ing love it - you reds onto Fulham.
Sam may have already reached his peak. Decent enough player who is currently in the form of his life. Conor - I'm pretty sure his best years are still well in front of him. Just seems to get better and better.
Million dollar question that one. I suppose we just keep doing what we're doing and developing players, and trying our best to keep punching above our weight. If money wins then so be it.
i thank them for all they have done but not wish them well. Why would anyone want them to do well at a club 4 points above us in the table is beyond me.
Quite the opposite to be honest, I'm being realistic. Anybody that thinks we can compete financially (and that means rejecting bids) with the likes of that lot are living in a dream world.
Wishing guys good luck that have or might be going to play for our main rival that's also a play off rival I can't believe someone would say that.
This post feels like the equivalent of your girlfriend cheating on you for your best mate & then saying 'good luck to her I thank her for all the good times, we've been together a while & the sex won't get any better'
Why the need to be bitter though? If it's true and they've both gone then that's that - bye bye thanks for the memories, we move on and cheer Barnsley Football Club on tomorrow at Fulham.
Sam without Conor I think would score half the goals or less. Sam with Conor could help take them up. I don't wish them well there
Nope. ******** to them. They could've waited for much better, financially and developmentally, options in the summer but they've jumped ship at the first club to wave a tenner at them. I hope they're both in league one again soon.
we cant, its as simple as that..its always happened here and will continue to do so(even more so in these days of more money flying around).Any player who shows an ounce of credibility will be gone.
All well and good if you are happy languishing between the championship and league 1 . Alternatively if we want to push on we have to keep hold of our best players . Surely the reason we all watch out team is the dream of seeing them at the top level . In my view we haven't tried hard enough to keep Sam and Conor which shows absolutely no ambition. The problem stems from last summer when instead of celebrating and patting ourselves on the back we should have been trying our damdest to tie these players down .
We move on but if we have any clauses in the Winnall deal where we make money if he scores alot or gets them promoted I hope we don't see another penny.
Putting players on new contracts does not mean keeping hold of our best players. If we'd tied them down in the summer there's absolutely no reason why say a Villa wouldn't come in with £6m bid - do we then just keep rejecting bids? Look at Payet at West Ham, 5 year contract teddy out a cot refusing to play.
I get that but if we had tied them down to a new contract we would have been looking at 10m instead of loose change . Its simply amerturish.
