A doctor makes the decision based on their knowledge of their patient. How is someone at the DWP going to be able to make a more informed decision? Unless they are told to say no regardless of what the patient tells them then they’ll come to the same conclusion anyway.
My favourite bit was: "There's nothing compassionate about leaving a generation of young people to sit alone in the dark before a flickering screen watching as their dreams slip further from reach every single day," Says the Prime Minister who wants to get everyone to work to *checks notebook* sit in offices before a flickering screen watching as their dreams slip further from reach every single day!
Also the bit about how there’s no way the population is 3 times as sick as it was when we took power… Erm, how many more people are on the NHS waiting lists and then extrapolate the data.
How many are below the poverty line and reliant on food banks. I'm surprised it's only 3 times as sick. From a personal perspective I'm at least 1,000 times more sick of this lot than I was the last labour government.
I absolutely despise these tory ********. They will attack the vulnerable and the actual lazy people will be safe.
They are beyond evil - maybe if people can get treatment for their conditions they might recover faster - just a thought The whole NHS is broken - I have an annoying and slightly painful trapped nerve - nearly 4 weeks ago I filled in an online form to my GP describing the symptoms and got a reply I needed MSC physio but there are no appointments. I had a similar problem in 2009 ago and actually saw a doctor - he said I needed physio but there is a bit of a wait ~4 weeks had I got any private insurance - I have through work so he wrote me a letter on the spot which I could send to my Insurer and I started treatment 2 days later so I phoned the surgery and asked if I could get a referral again. - Told I have to fill in another online form and specifically request a private referral which I did - on the 26 of March - I still havent a referral so cant arrange even private treatment - this will be 4 weeks on Monday Ive chased several times - first response - you need to allow 10 working days for it to be done - second response after 2.5 weeks - oh nothings been done I will chase it - third response after 3.5 weeks - its been written by the secretary but its awaiting a signature I will chase it Wonder what Mondays excuse will be Im not ill enough to be off work - but if I was not being able to get treatment for months hardly helps get down the long term sick list So now the plan is to not treat us when we are ill but not let us take sick leave either - we should be out on the streets French style
I’ve heard somewhere that Infosys may be the ones with the “get back to work” contract - Sinai’s wife’s company - if it is true, it’s coming close to corruption
These twunts will stop at nothing to pitch the people against each other. A culture war is the only way they think that they have any chance of winning the next election. The upcoming local elections should tell them all they need to know how they will do in the general election. They know they are fecked
Wes Streeting is funded by John Armitage, a billionaire hedgefund boss with a significant interest in privatising the NHS through the US company United Health. He also funds Keir Starmer and the Conservative Party.
Yeah but what/who is the alternative, surely the rest are just as bad as this lot. Btw though, whatever happened to the Monster raving loony party ?.
Power corrupts and I’m sure in 10 years time we’ll be moaning about an opposition party for different reasons, but although the lesser of two evils is still evil, it’s a small step in the right direction.
Agreed, you'd like to think Labour will look after vulnerable and the less off in society unlike these charlatans.I have never despised a political party in all my 55 nearly 56 years as this lot.
Yet another lurch to the right from the Tories. Reform UK have really got them rattled. Just another step on the road started down by David Cameron when he put the EU referendum in the Tory manifesto in order to stop votes leaking off to UKIP. Sadly it's not going to work because for every potential Reform voter they woo back, 10 more dessert them to the Lib Dems or Labour. If the latest polls were to be replicated at the General Election, the Tories wouldn't even be the official opposition party. They are reaping what they sowed....
Sort the NHS properly and get it back to functioning as one of the best and most admired health services in the world and then we’ll see the sickness levels drop. Talking to my cousin and her husband yesterday, he’s been off sick as he mysteriously collapsed at work. He’s been told there is no way he can go back to work until they at least get to know what the cause/problem is. This happened last August (I think) and he is still waiting to see a specialist. Horrible Tories yet again singling out and trying to divide sections of society for their political gain, and no doubt personal and/ or Party finances.
wes is a lickspittle lovely person but we need change. I won’t vote for Labour but understand those who do.
