Is it just me but from where I was sitting in the East upper I can't see that it's possible to get another 4,752 people in the ground. Because that is the difference between Saturdays attendance and the capacity of the stadium.

From Ponty end view, looked quite a number of seats empty. You lost 1-2 rows in the Wedneday fans due to police tape, seats taped off behind dug out and then the West Stand upper.

Noticed from TV pictures that the East lower block nearest the North stand was almost empty. There were some empty seats low in the Ponty and loads of space in the West stand

i guess it all depends on how many tickets chelsea sell, but we should get at least 20000 there on sat.... perosnally it would be good to see all 23009 seats filled....

Why are the first two rows in the North Stand taped off anyway? If they need more segregation why put the seats there in the first place?

Think it is something to do with people getting onto the pitch.

I've noticed this before at live tv games...

...as the BBC will probably install those electronic advertising boards, don't they have to leave the first two rows of each stand that is behind them empty? I thought it was for all the gubbins that goes with them, but it looks like it's because they stand higher and spectators can't see over them.

The BBC don't install the advertising boards, the club do because they can gain more revenue....we had some for one of the Sky games this season.

    Sky put those up...

nothing to do with the club. Their people come in a day before the game and put all their adverts up.

The club were selling the advertising space, regardless of who actually hires them to the club

Sky's electronic advert was in front of the normal adverts that were on the East Stand, we used to have two line of advertising boards on the East stand when we were in the Prem.

And something else I've thought of...

Those camera gantries they have plonked in the middle of both the West Lower sections will also have made some seats unusable. I'm sure the BBC will also be using them.

I bet all the companies that are advertised on the electronic boards for the Chelsea game, will all be multi-nationals not local firms. BFC will have nothing to do with what is appearing on there.

the capacity will be lower for televised games...

because of the cameras, when we played Oxford at the end of the promotion season we actually got our tickets because sky decided not to televise the game as we had, of course, won promotion the week before and they didnt need to show both us and wolves games

    whatever the case

we get the extra money from it, or at least a portion of it, the rest going to the provider of the boards.
