Someone I know at the club told me BFC could have had it for £170k, PC declined. It sold for that at auction.

I'm sure I read somewhere that PC wanted to buy it and convert it to apartments for young players and use some of it for educational purposes but the council knocked it back because PC wouldn't sanction building houses on the car park.

Why don't we rebuild the old stand with a sports restaurant and bar. Something like walkabout. I used to frequent a place in Columbus Ohio a lot. It was a Damon's famous for ribs, wings etc (one at crystal peaks and Lincoln). It had 4 large screens where they would show different sports shows some live. Monday night football live and NHL ice hockey all at the same time. Clever bit was you could switch a box on your table to listen to the audio only of the screen you wanted to watch. Tuesday's had a multi choice quiz on the screens than linked to every other franchise in the state so showing your ranking overall. All clever stuff but this was back in the 80s so I'm sure technology is even better now to have an attractive sports bar that would work beyond match days.

Debatable once you start paying the folk that work there wages. Redfearn's Bar profits aren't huge because everything you buy comes with VAT that you can't claim back.

Re: they knocked down my old Junior school

My mum told me yesterday that they have just started knocking down the old stone building next to Hoyland market on Market Street.
You'd think they just renovate it and keep the character. Lots of those old stones in a skip now. I think it is making way for a Lidl.

23 home games a season, plus cup games and the odd function. So even if you rounded it up to 50 days a year, how do the other 315 days pay for themselves? I think that's been the stumbling block.
