“Millwall’s chief executive, Steve Kavanagh, subsequently talked about the club being damaged by 30 to 40 people.“

Looked like quite a few more than 30 - 40 when we were at Wembley.

Sadly, the club revels in the "nobody likes us, we don't care" motto - it sends the wrong message. At Wembley, I saw many Millwall fans wearing t-shirts with this slogan on.

    It’s all about reputation.
Football hoolies are judged on their reputation.
The Guardian article is fantastic news for a large section of Millwall fans.
They aren’t the worst fans in football - far far from it - because they just haven’t got the numbers.
If the media wants to destroy Millwall all they need to do is describe them as soft fookers - and give it a full report when clubs like Everton go down there and turn them over.

With regard to Barnsley at Wembley - anyone who knows anything about English football fans would have identified there would be problems at Wembley as soon as they walked into Wembley.
Massively outnumbered fans in an isolated area near to a set of fans that are desperate for media attention = PROBLEMS.

thanks for posting. a good read. in my opinion Millwall and Birmingham are the worst two clubs in this country. they condone / ignore the most appalling behaviour from their "fans" and it needs to stop. the spineless football authorities are pathetic. being taken to task by them is, as Dennis Healey once said of Geoffrey Howe, "like being savaged by a dead sheep".
