Out of interest who would you say makes up the clique? Genuine question as I am always interested when people mention one.

    He's from a different generation.

He probably remembers when there was no segregation, and every chuff had a flat cap, rattle and a rosette and half time entertainment was someone playing the spoons or a washboard.

He's 84 now is Dickie. Looked as though the produce of the bar had taken over in the clip
I've seen on Facebook. Used to go to the Talbot Inn in Mapplewell for Sunday lunch
and Dickie sometimes used to turn up. They used to give him a massive portion of his favourite
meal Pork Chops with veg and taties. Used to keep the punters amused with his Cricket
stories , his times with Parky and talking with fellow fans who were there for lunch about his love for Barnsley FC.
Poor old lad is looking very frail now.

What does 'one of their own' mean eh Nudger ?.
Remember some of us fans aren't from the taarn and we don't have a hometown connection like most of you on here have.
And I disagree with the idea that our fans hate to see somebody do well etc.

He said he SUPPORTED them, not simply "a good club."
But to be charitable to Dickie, I'll just put it down to the first stages of the onset of senility.

It's him saying Sheff Utd are a good club with magnificent supporters that has riled me, he obviously didn't see how their supporters behaved at Middlesbrough and how they hero worshipped someone that may have or may not have committed a callous crime and sent one of their own Jessica Ennis death threats and other shameful messages. Good club my arse!

My original post was nothing to do with ignorance nor seeing folk do good. What I do feel is out of order is a man that gets free hospitality at Oakwell every single home game, wearing a rival's colours and stating on TV that he supports the local rivals when he's playing us. Now, I like to see everyone do well...From Parky, to Sam Nixon, Katherine Kelly and the numerous lollipop men and women who stand in rain, sleet and snow to help our children get to school safely. But if they got free meals and milked every media opportunity they could at the expense of the club which I love dearly, write for and give a lot of time for...to then go on record that they support Sheffield United against us, then I'd say the same thing...Withdraw the free hospitality and give it to a real fan.

Nudge...Do u try and be polar opposite on purpose? You are normally the first to come out shouting about the dee dars and support of the neighbouring clubs. Now u reckon theres nowt wrong with this. This guy is a freeloader and tight beyond belief. Never met him but talked to muliple people tonight and they all say the same thing. Expects the red carpet and free everything wherever he goes. Do you know who i am? The names bird, dicke bird.. is his normal intro. Lol cu thi dickie. Get thisen darn sheff every week from now on fella.

I think you need to realise how old he is. Do you think it's likely he sits on social media watching videos of Sheffield United fans at Boro? He won't have had a clue about that.

If you were fortunate enough to not get lumbered with his ramblings in the Talbot whilst you were having a quiet meal with your family then you'd had a narrow escape.
I don't take umbrage with a doddery old schooner talking **** to get freebies at his time of life. I take umbrage with the fact that he looks like mr toad

I think he's been invited to Sheffield United, into their hospitality suite, and he's giving good word about his hosts. Like he will have done hundreds of times in his life. At everywhere from football grounds to Royal Palaces. Dickie is a celebrity and he gets invited to these things, and anyone who knows him knows he's a true Yorkshireman and likes to bag himself a freebie. As such he knows how to play the game so he gets invited back.

He's decided to wear a Sheff Utd tie. That's not something I'd do, but Dickie is not just a famous Barnsleyite, he's a famous Yorkshireman and he's wearing the club tie of a Yorkshire club. I'm not going to lose any sleep about that.

He predicted Sheff Utd would win 2-1 in a close match. If you'd asked me before the game I would have said we're going to get battered and lose 3-0 because I've seen our midfield.

Actually mate he did. It's up to each one of us what we think he meant by that. Did he mean he was supporting Sheffield United as a football fan and wanted them to win the game he was just about to watch? Or did he mean he was supporting the club as an institution, like he would the National Trust or the RSPCA or Barnsley Cricket Club, by accepting an invite, showing his face, talking to folk, giving a couple of interviews, saying what a jolly good set of chaps everyone is, giving a 10 minute speech about the day he gave Viv Rickards his marching orders when he was on 99, then ******* off home?

I know what I think and I know the next time both clubs are at home at the same time he'll be at Oakwell, in the seat he's paid for, as he always is, supporting his home town club.

If there's a clique why haven't I been invited? Admittedly I'd probably get pissed and try and shag a bridesmaid at all clique meetings but that's not the point.
