Thought him to be more a full back - but could he be playing left wing do you think? Edit: looked at his twitter, nothing whatsoever suggests he is playing? Has he deleted it?
Good luck to Harvey - yes, I agree he is not the finished article - but his absence can only weaken the depth of the squad. Luckily Isgrove is coming back to fitness and form. Trouble is we have two other loan players who seem now to be first on the team sheet - Gardner, and WIlliams. After a slow start Gardner has begun to show his abilities - and I think we could pick him up permanently - however I fear we are developing WIlliams for his home club....
Barnes going back could actually be a blessing. There's definitely some talent there, he's scored a few beauties for us and provided some valuable assists, but the job Ayling did on him in the Leeds game seemed to shatter his confidence. The goals and assists have dried up and where earlier in the season he'd be attempting a shot at goal or to beat a man, more recently he's looked scared to even try, passing the ball backwards and slowing down the attack. The defensive side of his game still requires a lot of work, so if he's not producing going forward, we have much better options in Hammill and Isgrove who can both offer far more cover for the full back. If Barnes was our player we'd keep on playing him, attempting to bring back that confidence and improve the defensive side of his game, but as he's only a loan player we can't really invest that amount of time and we might be much better off with someone who may not have the same obvious potential as Barnes in the long run, but can give more to the team right now.
A bit on the bottom of this as to why they recalled him http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/s...-news/leicester-citys-wes-morgan-could-997338
Haha. He won’t get a look in with the Leicester first team. Not too fussed he’s gone. Need to give players we have a chance.
