A mate of mine has Norton well and truly embedded into his PC and he wants to get rid I had a quick look the other day and there is no uninstaller with it and its not in the add remove programs - but its definitely there. Google reveals Norton have a removal tool you can download - but as I dont trust them I just wondered if anyone had used it (or any better ideas of how to get rid - short of reformatting the disk and reinstalling everything else )
It works a dream, but would suggest you already have a new Virus program ready to install. After removing Norton, close down any connection you have to the Internet - preferably remove the cable or turn off Wi-Fi, as the system will be very susceptible to attack without any Virus program installed. Install new Virus software Put back on-line. Problem resolved.
Thanks He already has a different antivirus program installed (ant remember which) just wasnt sure how well the removal tool worked that was all
