"I love to play on the front foot, press teams and be aggressive". Not sure we saw any of that last season either at BFC (some mitigating circumstances) or Leeds where he had a lot more quality to work with!
Hope he hits the ground running up there, if he can't do anything at Hibs then he may be back coaching kids.

I'm not sure what he can do at Hibs other than win the "best of the rest" title but good luck to him.
I see the terminally bitter have got their bases covered, if he fails he's s**t, if he succeeds the league is s**t.
Anyway, having gone to the cancelled friendly at Hibs a few years back I wouldn't mind going to Easter Road. Probably next season when Ian's mob are back in the top flight. :)

That's not a good haircut. If you didn't know who he was, you might think he was one step from a far right protest movement!

Did we finish in one? Largely as a consequence of his recruitment and tactics? Just a yes or no etc.?

(And if I am blaming him for his part in relegation - which I am - then I also need to credit him for the signings he made who have done so well this season, and I do.)

Yes we got relegated because we appointed Morais. Anyway back to my question were we in a relegation spot when he left. I deflection this time please.

*In your view* we were relegated because of Morais.

*In my view* it was a combination of Heckingbottom's recruitment, the form we were in prior to him defecting to the Champions of Yorop, and Morais' incompetence.

Seven goals in 14 matches is relegation-avoiding form, isn't it? And one win in 16?

That's that - different people see different things. You see a snapshot in time. I see a trajectory. Doesn't make either of us wrong. Or right.

Agreed, everyone has to take their share of the blame for what was a shambolic season but for some on here to try and absolve Hecky of any blame is just ridiculous.

Tbf he did pick McBurnie as a target but the fek up played a big part in our performances and if he’d got him we wouldn’t have been anywhere near the bottom . Imo

I just fear that if we'd got him in the August window, Swansea would have done what Leicester did with Barnes and recalled him in January.

I can't prove that, of course, but I suspect it.

As it was, we got him for the second half of the season and not the first.

And, yes, credit to Heckingbottom for scouting/recruiting him. He was - is - amazing.

Good job for him. No real pressure.

He could be there a long time safe in the knowledge that they're not going to win the league or be relegated, and the odd Edinburgh derby win will keep his supporters cushty.

He had very little say in recruitment as have all of our managers since Wilson

Probably will have a full say in recruitment North of the Border. Reportedly interested in two players
from Leeds United re- Paudie O'Connor and Ryan Edmundson and Ryan Hedges from us, once the
    season ends of course.

Lost his first game today as Hibs Manager 1-0 at Ibrox when Rangers forward
Jermaine Defoe got the only goal of the game . Rangers keeper McGregor was sent off for
raking his studs down the back of Hibs Mark McNulty.

    No I don’t think that’s right.
He was in the loop with regard to recruitment - that’s until Ganaye walked through the door.

The question is this - why did the CEO or / and owners do something as despicable as this to a manager that had proved he could build a winning attractive team with relatively no money.

A decision was made to make things unbearable at Barnsley for Hecky.

By ‘say’ I’m meaning the types of players we went for in the way that it’s done through the famous spreadsheet.

I know he had to get involved more after Linton left

    What ?!?!?
The team that just got us promoted was principally put together while Hecky was our manager.

Hard to judge on what a manager does in Scotland the bloke who more or less relegated rotherham a few seasons back before getting sacked did well in Scotland. Jack Ross did well in Scotland but has failed with Sunderland.

    Short memory.
No strikers at the club up until January - just Tommy Tap It.
If he had Moore and McBurnie from the start of that season I would guess we would have ended up nearer the top than relegated on the last day.
Give Hecky a bit of money in the Championship and he would have given us promotion.
I still think if Stendel leaves at any point we should bring Hecky back.
