He was a genius, as I say, he got the plaudits.

Flicker was also a genius when he kept us up against the odds at this level.

One of them was shown the door very quickly when things went badly, the other is still thought of as a genius despite winning very few games in a full year.

You're probably right and if it does happen I'm not sure if I can be arsed anymore.

I think my post is being taken literally.

    Hecky is not a genius.

He took over a side very much on the up, yet kept it on track and even improved it.

He suffered greatly from the side's dismemberment last January and further in summer.

His tactics seem to me generally excellent, but the personnel he's had so as to be able to implement favoured tactics have been lacking.

Did I say we should play 4-4-2? Now with Moore we can. But we still lack quality in key areas.

It means he will pay the price for poor recruitment.

Come on, tell me what you think I mean

Hecky has said he picks the players and people say the players aren't good enough but if we play like that first half for rest of season we will be fine.

I wasn't taking you literally, I was more referring to the general consensus that nothings ever his fault, considering the large amount of blame that's apportioned by posters on this forum.

I agree. Let down by madness from Cavare and the usual blunder from Davies

Just Cowdenbeath generally? We can pick who we like regardless of age?

I do not believe that Hecky does not have the final say on who comes to the club.

Admittedly, he won't have carte blanche to decide on any footballer.

He has a range who fit our criteria, put to him. Presumably.

    And then he chooses.

Which is probably not much different to other clubs. Cos if you don't have the dosh, you can't buy who you might want anyway.

It's just that we have certain other (age related it seems) criteria applied as well.

    Is this right?

I think that’s a bit of a misunderstanding of the dynamics between being a Head Coach and a Manager. A manager will traditionally alongside his scouting team isolate players he ‘fancies’ and put them to the board for consideration. The Head Coach model does this in reverse.

I think we need a statement from the club to confirm how recruitment works, and who's involved with what.

It'll save a hell of a lot of arguments based around hearsay and guesswork.

I mean I hope he isn't pushed out until he's given HemsWUM a good showing for tonight's vitriol.
