Notts county fans don't seem overly keen on hecky. Several other names being linked on their forum.

Not sure he over achieved when he took over from Johnson, look at the squad we had mawson,Roberts, aidy white, bree, scowen, brownhill, watkins, isgrove, hammill, hourhine, winnall, ashley fletcher we had already won 7 or 8 on the spin and reached the jpt final when he took over so the momentum was there nothing needed to change. And that must of been one of the best teams to ever grace league one. I agree he over achieved the 1st season in the championship but momentum was still there from promotion.

Hemsworth Tyke wanted rid, and the fans had turned at away games. Think it was QPR when some sang "he's one of our own" and were booed by other reds fans.

He had his time. Did well for some of it, then turned dour and passed the buck. Some of our fans just love to bash the club for whatever reason. That no doubt helped Hecky.

All part of our history now. We've got a management team that's fresh with plenty of charisma.

There were certainly starting to be a few murmurs, but I think most had suggested to give him to the end of the season. I've just looked at the results to him leaving. We beat brum 2-0 on 4th November. In the next 15 games, we only won one, away at Sunderland. And our points tally was just 8, conceding 23 and scoring just 7. That's pretty turgid stuff.

I wish him all the best. Surprised if he takes it. I think a role in a coaching capacity at a bigger club may be a better move for him. He could be out of a job at County in a matter of months if things don't go well & that would probably put paid to his managerial career.

Having Stendel / Winkler makes me put last season into "history" already. At the end of the day he had a great 12 months, before the fire sale of players. After that he seemed unsettled, which isn't entirely surprising. He never really got a chance at Leeds, but did nothing to help his CV.

It's a tricky situation for him, he won't want to stay out of management / coaching for long but he has to make sure his next job is the right one or otherwise his first team managerial career could be ruined. Looking at Notts County's record or hiring and firing managers I'm not sure they would be the right fit for him, I thought he may end up at a bottom half League One club but there aren't many opportunities around at present - Only Shrewsbury and Wimbledon.
I also think that wherever he goes next he needs a complete new backroom team, Jamie Clapham isn't the most inspiring choice as a No.2.

We were crap for a lot of that season but when he left we were outside the relegation places with a squad worse than our current one.

Pretty much the same squad I think people would have yiadom back and Bradshaw in a second. And the young lad barnes wouldn't mind him back

I forgot about Barnes to be fair, but I think him and the others are outweighed by the fact we didn't have Moore or Dougall and everyone else was a year younger.

Hammill is debatable but barnes and yiadom would walk in to pur starting 11 no problem. Also gary Gardner and joe Williams

We were in 19th place and 5 points outside of the relegation zone when Hecky left. We then went one way under Morais. Plus he had McBurnie in the side.

The season before showed what Hecky could do with a proper squad of players.

Call him a lovely person for leaving all you like, but to call him a poor manager is incorrect.

It’s been done to death between us, I completely disagree with virtually everything you say about the bloke. I can’t see any rational argument to say we should’ve been higher in the league in any of the 3 seasons.

We should’ve been cast adrift at the bottom of the league when he left with the shambolic transfer window & how the squad had been made up.

Yeah best to agree to disagree. But I'm not sure how anyone can argue the squad he had in league one must be up there with one of the best ever to play in league one, he did well to get us into the play offs from where we were when he took over but he didn't have to change a thing. You think he is a great manager im not so sure im sure time will tell.
