I think I also would have been miserable ... Angry frustrated..let alone disappointed. my home town club the one I support and had supported from being a kid.. That I had not only played for but coached and now in charge of the 1st team giving my all.. A club that was in my blood living my dream.. When suddenly all my hard work passion and knowledge and effort that I had put into the club and job its self counted for nothing and to add injury to the insult I find and witness the rug being pulled from under me... A fire sale.... I think the wording
P1 ssed off would only scratch the surface.. It wouldn't discribe the feeling that I had been betrayed nor I doubt the disappointment no the emotional pain I would be feeling either.. Anybody else want to stand in his shoes and imagine how they would feel given the circumstances
Even money wouldn't soften the pain

    Makes me laugh this.

If you're a Hecky fan then he signed all the good players and the spreadsheet signed the drek.

If you don't like Hecky then he signed the rubbish and the spreadsheet unearthed the gems.

Whoever signed the players, it can't be denied that the 12 month period in 2016 was a brilliant time to be a Reds fan. Then afterwards, when we lost the majority of our players the following 12 month period was pretty grim.

As ever the truth is somewhere inbetween.

    Agree.
I spoke to him and he still goes to Barnsley games and has a good positive attitude towards Barnsley.
If what had happened to him had happened to me then I couldn’t guarantee that I’d feel the same.

Hecky wasted more money than anyone since machin. That last season of his football was dire and no fight and to cap it off he sent Harvey Barnes back.

Tactics and team selections were dire during that winless run. None more so than the Cardiff City selection resting players for the Leeds game that were on a high after a great point away at Norwich. That contributed immensely to the poor run that ensued. Momentum was lost. I also think that might have been one of the reasons Harvy Barnes was recalled to Leicester.

    Certain managers suit certain clubs.
Hecky is one of our own.
If Bielsa had gone from Barnsley to Leeds then he would have failed at Leeds.
I can’t see anyone with authority being accepted at the ‘mighty’ Leeds United that has come from ‘lowly’ Barnsley.

Hecky had final say on transfers. He also told the board anyone who he didn't want wouldn't play. He was true to his word anyone with an ounce of talent was farmed out on loan.

I live overlooking the Cotonwood Elsecar trail on the canal
Would have invited Hecky in for a chat and cuppa
A glorious walk when nice weather, and quite a few rambling come walking groups use it

I think you're reading way into this and this isn't anything to do with little old Barnsley etc.

Leeds are a very trigger happy club, as are most ambitious clubs these days - that is all it is. He lost too many games and they sacked him- bigger names have suffered the same fate so it's nothing to do with us. Anyone with half a brain should give them a wide berth if they looked at the bigger career picture in that it might pay well short term but longer term it's going to set you back. Hecky has finished up in Scotland as a result of this choice and I don't get the impression any other championship clubs were clamouring for his signature.

Like I've said he's probably a good manager but you seem to have put him on a pedestal.

Hecky got nearly to the top with Barnsley then the people in charge cut his rope from under him
    How do you survive that

I hope his stay is long but Daniel Stendel will one day leave Barnsley.
But when he does go - then I for one would welcome back Paul Heckingbottom.
Hecky + adequate funding = success.
It’s just a pity the new owners and Hecky never really worked together.

They were probably happy to see him go in the end. It saved them sacking him.

I’ve said before and still believe that PH is probably a very good coach but perhaps not so good as a manager.
There’s a big difference between the two.
Take his stint with us the players he took over he already had a good relationship so it was easier to coach, but players bought afterwards he seemed to struggle with.
There’s no shame in being a good coach but struggle as a manager, look at Phelan, McLaren and Renee ?(Dutch fella) all lauded as exceptional MU coaches but generally struggled as Managers, Peter Taylor probably the best example.
