Boo, typical knee jerk reaction! Wouldn't have expected anything different from your sort!
Where've you been anyway, I've not seen Nurse Gladys in ages.

We've just got back from our holidays, old mate. For the last fortnight, we've been holidaying in County Durham, a beautiful county. We've had a fantastic lodge which we've used as our base, overlooking the sea and I've started each morning drinking cold fresh orange juice and eating marmalade on toast whilst sat on our veranda. The weather's been wonderful and I've not been on the internet since June 17th. Can't say I've missed it, either.:D

Our badge belongs in the 1950s.
    It’s horrible!!!!!!!!!!

    Wolves, Hull have great badges.
We need to upgrade the Toby Tyke badge.
I’d start by looking at the Rugby League badges which are generally very good.

It's been so quiet, too. We've loved it.

I agree it's not up to much but I have no idea what to change it to that would please the majority.

I don’t like it either looks veeery dated, preferred the Oakwell one, should look at something else, maybe something like that LU that Leeds have but obviously BFC, far more likely to appeal to the younger end

That white rose badge was a cheaply made design and awful graphic.
And the bmbc badge after was equally as unimaginative.
Does anyone know who designed the 1st oak + well badge, the late 70s one and the 2nd one from theearly 80s .??
    Great graphic designs both

And you’ve mentioned an important point - it needs to be attractive for the younger end.
If it’s an attractive logo then more merchandise will be sold.

We’ve had this discussion a year ago or so.
We had a vote on some suggestions - and all of them were sh.te.
We need something tho - it wouldn’t be difficult to design something punchy and aggressive.

Problem is that there are quite a lot of fuddy duddy, flask and blanket type supporters at Barnsley that are against any sort of change no matter what.

    Exactly this ^^

Current badge is okay but not great. As a younger fan, the Oakwell badge just looks pretty outdated- I’m sure you all have great memories associated with it but frankly it just doesn’t look great.

A smarter, cleaner design (ie Wolves) would definitely go down well with people my age. I wear my Barnsley tops pretty frequently already but I’d probably double up on shirts if they had a really great badge.

The thing is the current badge isn't a traditional one. we've had loads of different badges over the years. In the 70's I think we used to just have BFC as a badge at one point. There's no "tradition" element involved in any argument to keep it. If it were a long standing badge dating back to time immemorial I might argue against changing it but it isn't.

Wolves badge mentioned a few times
Should win the trophy for the most boring badge in England. It's a cartoon of a wolf.
So I presume you would like a cartoon of a dog on ours? And nothing else? Like theirs?
I am proud to be a fuddy duddy and am happy that our town badge reflects our history, our historic work ethics, our motto is especially great.
    "Judge me by my actions"
Too many gobby people in this world peddle false promises, lie, cheat, deceive, rob (solicitors etc) so It's good to see a representation of what the character of a Barnsley person used to be. Some still are but we're getting fewer in the modern era
Probably the younger (not fuddy duddy) fans wouldn't quite get that.
The spectameur agendo badge said it all and never needed changing
I'll get me flask now and me tube of embrocation (ask your older relatives for explanation) 512px-Wolverhampton_Wanderers.svg.png

    Therein lies the problem innit.
You think the wolves badge is great I think it’s dogger would never buy any merchandise with owt looking like that .
The Hull badge is nearly as bad .
The problem is no ones gonna agree and that’s why we have the Town logo on . If there was some design that I could agree with I’d reluctantly let it go . I can see the problem the out of Town supporters have with it but most imo supporters from the town like it because it reflects us as Townspeople of Yore .
We had this with Ben and even though his designs were **** most people wanted it leaving as is .
Imo it represents the majority of supporters, your always banging on about identity for people to latch on to well that’s what we’ve got as a town

I'm not much of a fan of it either to be honest. The old badge that had the well was probably the best.

I like the current badge and it links in nicely with the community.I am however, open to change but I’ve seen nothing amongst previous proposed designs that are anywhere near as good as our current one. Previous badges have also been quite naff. The Oakleaf and Well are abysmal.

I'm happy with it. I like the way it links the club and the town. I like the "spectemur agendo" motto and what it stands for.
That's not to say I couldn't be persuaded to vote for something different, but it would to be a bloody good one.

I'd also wonder about the CEO's priorities if changing the badge was anywhere near the top of his To Do list. Changing the stadium name, love it or hate it, would at least have some commercial benefit. Changing the badge just seems like a waste of time and effort.
