Aye, this is why I'm not overly critical on referee's. Okay they should only give a penalty if they're certain, but obviously, they get one look. Both you and I have seen a replay and are still split.

    I ain't fussed. We won

Looked like a really good run into the box from.young bird and a foul. No dive

Theirs was definitely not a penalty

Agree with all of the above. It looked like a fantastic tackle from Pearson who was left really exposed by his fellow defender missing the ball.

Bird waltzed through almost like Paddy McCourt and it looked like a soft penalty from that angle. However, the fact that none of the defenders reacted suggests that he was caught. Or maybe they were just thinking "fair enough, it's Barnsley, it's 3-1 again".

Don't like Thiam's penalty technique. I know he scored but I'm not a fan of these rolling along the ground penalties. Well placed, certainly, but if the keeper went the right way he would have saved it.

I'm one of the few who thinks theirs was a penalty. Going in at that angle with the wrong leg, he's getting some of the man first and it's debatable whether he gets much if any of the ball. It rolls through on its same path to our keeper.

I know but give the keeper no chance at all is better. It was a clever penalty because (presumably) Thiam fooled the keeper into going the wrong way but if he had guessed right it would have been a simple save. Hit it hard and anywhere about six feet off the ground and it’s a guaranteed goal

It was young Jared indeed Redstar. Really pleased that lad is starting to come through.
He could be a very useful asset for us in the coming games in my view.
Not fazed by any occasion and loves to take people on.

Also during yesterdays highlights take a closer look at McGeehan.
His enthusiasm is infectious. Looks really chuffed to be back playing and joins in every celebration
with genuine gusto. Along with Mamadou Thiam, I have a felling that Cameron Mac will emerge as one of
our more influential players this Season.

It was a great effort to get a tackle in from Pearson and one he had to make. Once committed to it he was in the lap of the gods. It was a genuine attempt to get the ball but most referees these days are going to give that as a pen.

He got the ball: the ball moved in the direction he tackled. It wasn't a penalty and clearly the linesman was too hasty in giving the decision

Had high hopes for McGeehan this season. Hope he can stay fit.

    Cracking ball for our second.

Pleased that Bird is coming through; he played at Spurs and (understandably) looked lost on the first half but got more involved in the second.

Thought the same myself. Pearson did well to get there after Jackson and Lindsey had not done too well...

My thoughts too. I've watched it a few times now and it looks a very harsh penalty to me but to be fair I don't think ours was a penalty either.

Yeah it wasn't great from Lindsay in the highlights to allow Gregory to get so much space but Pearson covered ground well and got back
