Does anyone know if we inserted a sell-on clause in the Holgate deal? I've seen nothing mentioned, though as we did it with Stones, I'd be pretty surprised if we hadn't done the same with Holgate.

There was a link to an article the other day on here (published at the time we sold him) saying that we did indeed have one.

I think the percentage is exactly the same.

Percentage is more, and we got something for his debut yesterday

I recall this question being asked last season to one of Ben Mansford or Patrick Cryne, and from what I recall, it's the same clause as was in Stones' contract.

Read a few reports of the game from Merseyside and it seems he's impressed, should come on leaps and bounds under that manager. Hopefully we're in for another windfall....

Not only that, but it would further enhance the reputation of our academy, which of course can only be a good thing.

He's done well to make his Premier League debut aged just 19 at home to Spurs. I can see a few more million heading our way in a couple of years.

There isn't a sell on clause as Everton wouldn't agree to another one when they realised how much the Stones one would cost them.

That should stir things up a bit ;)

It was said at the time that we 'retain an interest in his future career'. Whatever that means.

Sell on clause worked ok for stones but we knew he was exceptional anyway.
Way to go in future is imo less sell on clause more appearance ,goals and international call ups.

Holgate could be at Everton his whole career.
