Not keen on our style of football far too much long ball stuff played at the minute, we've gone from too much tippy tappy football to too much hoof ball. Probably a contraversal opinion but it's an honest one.
Controversial opinion - while ever we have these owners at the helm, you won’t ever be happy, even if we were European cup winners.
we need to get to 50 points, the lads need to keep it simple and pick a final pass too, if we had tried to play football with Swansea we would have been beaten 3 or 4 to be fair
I didn't mention the owners at all in my op because I wasn't aware the owners told the players how to play. I think if you look at some of the other threads you'll see quite a few people making the same point. Maybe you should stop seeing things that aren't there and see what is, we played today like.poor imitation of the blunts. if your happy with that fine I'd prefer us to also play a bit more through midfield instead of over it all the time.
"if we had tried to play football" Well you are partly right I suppose. We tried to play our own version of football. Even if you don't call it football. And losing 2-0 rather than 3 or 4 is OK? whilst not playing football at the same time. Something not right there.
Youre right. there needs to be a compromise. hoof ball with no plan b will not sustain a way forward. great work by big val so far but more imagination required.
why is everyone having a go, someone put we should play on ground, pitch a bog, they better players we cant play that way and still be as competitive as tonight
If we lose games, we’ll be criticised on here because it’s pretty poor to watch if we’re honest. If we win (playing exactly the same way) we won’t be criticised, because winning excuses most things to most fans. Personally I don’t mind Val’s Plan A. My worry is that there isn’t a Plan B when Plan A isn’t working.
Spot on, same problem as with Struber although it might be a different plan A it's the same Plan b which is keep trying plan A until it works or the ref blows for full time.
Three things. Firstly I want us to win Secondly we can play it around very well. Around midfield and up front to a certain extent, even if our finishing is tosh. Thirdly we need better equipped forwards if we are going to lump it up all the time, even if its only to play it back to give our midfield a kick every now and then. This fast and furious long ball League 2 tactic, with better players than League 2 trying to execute it, will not work long term.
I think there is a Plan B. The problem is we were in the bottom three implementing it. Too many people are forgetting where we were before lockdown. One could argue you've just hammered your favourite player... that's the standard though. You can't accept your lot. Oh bless gets you League 1.
nor will suicidal pressing game, do not care how young or fit our lads are, we going to fade away with size of our squad, passing ball out from back cost us 2nd goal
swansea are not a good side. they're a pale shadow of their recent previous teams. we should have won tonight. despite the foul throw and questionable offside we should have beaten a poor opponent. I'm delighted at val having moved us so far forward to where we are but he really needs to start thinking of a plan b.
Val's got a system that has worked, despite the squad he's inherited not fitting too much into his cunning plan. He's worked wonders in terms of results. It's not pretty. But I believe it could be once he's got us 100% safe. Let's see.
only lost 4 all season, 2nd in table ,13 goals against , only Man City with same in all 4 leagues , they did just enough after 5 hour plus journey up here, plus their home pitch as been a disgrace all season, if they relaid it now, think they will win league
disagree. admittedly I've only seen them twice but they are a team who are defensively crude, lacking in midfield creativity, with strikers who dont get propper service. they are not v good and we should have beaten them tonight.
you have cheered me up to be fair, because I agree, should have beaten them down there too, but 13 goals against takes some doing, they will go up imho
