Completely agree. I’ve reluctantly moved to the Ponte for the rest of the season. But there’s a massive difference between not taking a refund and stumping up the money next April to pay for next year’s ticket. Unless something drastic happens in the next 6 months, I won’t be giving this lot another penny.
When you think about it it’s absolutely bonkers that we have been forced to get new seats, but can’t actually sit in them for the next game (which is also our biggest of the season). I keep thinking I’ve calmed down then I get mad again.
Mine was a last-minute change of heart but I fully respect anyone who has chalked fkuc on it and gone for the refund. I totally get it. I'll support the lads on the pitch but respect for the custodians is right out the window.
Other options for seats were shi te.My dad is 78 and struggles walking.Still support the team. But I’m ****** if we are giving these Conmen any more money.Go rot in hell.
we must be rolling in cash to not want any extra home fans other than season ticket holders…………….less of course the ones we’ve p1ssed off too……..rolling in it.
There's NOTHING that will deter me from going to Oakwell, no person, no senario. I'm not a super fan or I'm a better fan than you kind of thing. It's a habit I just can't kick, long live the Barnsley F.C.
Its easy at the moment for people in the west stand to chalk **** on it due the abysmal displays on the field. I wonder if the decision would be as easy if we were having a season like the last one
Seems more like guesswork than anything else... Perhaps a more indicative poll might have been: How many West Standers do you know that have asked for refunds, including yourself (if applicable)?
They lost me before the full closure of the West Stand. Swathes of empty seats, yet they decide to shoehorn people into ever diminishing sections. Who would have thought there was a challenging winter ahead public health wise. You can add ******* irresponsible to the many names they've been called.
Haven't a clue how many supporters closing the West Stand involves. I've been a season ticket holder in West Stand for last three years (I had a season ticket there in1969-1970, then "Centre Stand", and "Wing Stand" in 1997). I moved to East Stand (family area) from 1998 to 2007 when I moved to France. I'm now an East Stand seson ticket holder (upper tier, near halfway line) - hope we stay up, but, most likely, I'll still be there to watch us play Harrogate next season (at least I can be sure of a ticket for the fixture at Wetherby Road !
I didn't realise people hadn't got tickets for the Blunts game, that's disgusting. I'd tell them to swivel and take the refund.
Me and dad have got tickets just not our new ST seats as they had already been sold individually so we have really poor seats again not together near the corner flag
I think nearly everyone has their own, personal line in the sand, which would bring their support to a close. The West Stand saga will be that line for some, taking part in a ground share for a limited time would be the line for others. Yet more will chalk '**** it' were the club to move out of town into a new stadium. The other side of the coin will be some who will say they'll continue supporting the club no matter what. That would've been me, previously. I find it sad and distasteful that fans are even having to think about this.
For me, moving out of Oakwell would be a big challenge. I've followed The Reds for 60+ years. I now live in Wetherby but, here, I'm closer to Oakwell than I have been for 50+ years. If it was a new stadium some where in the vicinity of Barnsley then, maybe, but, if it was in Rotherham, I can't see why I should bother to travel 80 miles fkr home games (I used to do 444 miles for home games at weekends from Southampton from 1997 to 2007, wben I moved to France).
