I doubt there will be quarantine measures in place from August, at least not from the majority of European destinations.
We've got Israel and Jordan booked for the end of October, bought the flights before all of this kicked off, but hadn't paid for the accommodation. I reckon that's under serious doubt, but if we're allowed without serious restrictions when we arrive, I'll probably go. Having said that, who knows what's going to be happening in October. Already written off Spain in the summer.
Go on holiday to Northern Ireland. They have only had one death in the last 24 hours from Covid out of the two million population, so you'd be pretty safe.
Really? Foreign food actually in its place of origin just tastes so good. I can still remember the clam spaghetti I had in Italy the first time I went.
Given I make parts for aircraft engines, I hope people are flying again as soon as possible. Although given a few of the absolute morons I work with I can certainly understand anyone's reluctance to fly in the firs place!!
Each to their own. But.... wow. Travelling to different, awesome places around the world is one of my main reasons for living. By the way, which English food do you like best? Curry and kebabs?
Ive booked flights to Turkey end October. I generally go 4 times a year, this is the cheapest gig in 10 years, topest of top end 5* hotels and added extra hold luggage for Clone Island swag, cant fkng wait.
Me too until just a few years ago (and I mean literally, I didn’t even like pizza, pasta or rice for goodness sake, so weird to me now but such a controlling factor on my life). I still enjoyed going abroad though, the food situation did worry me to the point where I’d pack things like cereal bars incase I’d starve and I made sure (and still do this) that I went to touristy areas where I knew I’d be able to find something I like.
What amazes me is the difference in risk awareness there is among posters in this thread and the public in general. How can anyone envisage going on holiday abroad, when it will be virtually impossible to avoid getting too close to people at some point - whether it be at the airport, on the plane, in the hotel or around the resort. Bonkers.
I think most people are well aware the risk to them is absolutely minuscule and therefore aren’t going to let it ruin their lives
And given the close proximity I unavoidably end up getting to 1000s everyday, I'm pretty sure I'd be safer briefly on a plane and then on hols.
The risk isn't minuscule when coming into contact with the number of people you inevitably will for the duration of a holiday. Irresponsible.
I find it crazy because I see it completely from the opposite direction. What if I got it and took it somewhere? Someone recommending a place to go that doesn’t have it badly... well they might if people travel there.
The risk is minuscule, I have something like a 0.18% chance of dying IF AND ONLY IF I catch the virus. I have a bigger chance of dying in a car crash. Should I avoid all car journeys until they find a way to stop people dying in car crashes?
