Like I said, buy from Elsewhere. It’s like moaning that your local corner shop as closed when there’s a coop 200yards down the road.
Do you not understand that fruit and veg has to be planted? If it isn’t planted elsewhere for the UK market, it can’t be purchased from elsewhere.
You’re wrong. I didn’t think there was a correlation but it turns out there is. And it’s not what you think. https://www.theguardian.com/comment...dge-theory-brexit-divide-lockdown-coronavirus
So are you telling me farmers leave their fields empty because they haven’t received orders for their goods?
Because there’s still the market. I’m not being funny, just would like to know where you got the info from saying that the farmers haven’t planted. I know they still have in the UK.
In the UK they have, yes. I've spent the last 10 minutes looking for where I saw the information. I believe @Jay posted about it previously and I then looked into it and found it to be true. I saw blog posts etc. from EU farmers. I will keep looking for it, or maybe Jay can help.
How many of those countries do we have a rollover or new FTA with that starts at the end of the transition period? So expect to pay tariffs on incoming food - which, for most of them there isn't now.
Possibly, the point I’m making is that food will still be available. Let’s see what happens. Still time for some kind of FTA with the EU.
People who want to get on a plane shouldn't struggle to get a seat because thousands of people will decide not to spend their money in the travel industry this year. Why spend hundreds of pounds if not in to the grands for a restrictive holiday where you can't relax and go about your day as you always have previously? You might as well save your money or spend it in another industry.
I can’t find anything online about non planting of crops for the UK. If you could point me in the right direction I will give it a read.
To be honest with you I can't find anything now either. I definitely saw something previously about it. I will keep looking for it. I'll ask you again though, Which country have planted extra crops for the UK market? You seem so sure we can import them from anywhere we feel like, so surely you know about some?
To be honest I can’t find anything either, we’ll find out in 6-12months who’s right though. I don’t know of any country who’s planted extra crops but I don’t believe that’s how it works anyway. I believe crops go to market were they are sold around the world like commodities. Until either of us can present any evidence we’ll have to leave it at that.
