Each team gets 3 requests for a review per game. Unless a team requests it there is no review, if they request it it is reviewed. Simple.

No more refs thinking they are god and refusing to even entertain the idea they could be wrong. No more doubt about whether a incident will be reviewed or why. Just a simple format that works well in other sports

I'd lower it to 2 and make it so that if you are correct it doesnt take one away

Id be happy with that. Anything that takes control away from the men (and women) with a god complex

Like Tennis. They must have considered this option. Can’t fathom why they would have rejected it.

I guarantee the reason is because they don't want mortals to challenge the authority of referee's.

New referee kit for next season is rumoured to be a white dress, beard and sandals

Problem is though. Take Sweden’s Penalty. Sweden appeal its turned down as it wasn’t a “clear error “ and they have lost one of their challenges. I’d rather it worked like it does in Rugby. I think it was supposed to but it doesn’t.

But to 7 billion people it was a clear error wasn't it?

Not to Roy Keene for some reason. We don’t know if the VAR team asked the ref to take another look and he refused or if they never mentioned it to him.
It worked well in the Brazil game when the ref got conned by Neymars dive but then he had to look at it again as I think it’s almost mandatory when a pen is actually given

Personally prefer two but if you get one right you don’t lose it. Definitely far better than the system we’re currently subject to.
