......... where time goes. Have we really only two games left? I mean, we have had a decent start since beating Oxford and Bradford (what seems like a few weeks ago) but surely the season is not almost at an end? Hate this getting old - time really does fly.
Teacher asks her primary class what scares them- Sophie-the dark Billy-monsters Ryan-the impossible battle of the stopping or slowing down of time as we all head towards the rapid inevitability that is death. Rachel-Ryan
Yeah I can't wait for saturday where as a week and half ago I was in a state of apathy. I'm the modern day fickle football supporter.
Time flies by when you're the driver of a train And you're travelling in to Trumpton with a cargo of cocaine. Copywrite-Half man half biscuit
You are right...as you get older each decade seems to pass by with ever increasing speed. However there are times when time appears to stand still when watching/listening to BFC on matchdays.... There was many a season when , after scoring a couple and being comfortably in control, we took the pedal off the gas and started to defend deep and then, inevitably the opponents scored with 15 or so minutes to go. We then used to go into panic mode. During those last 15 minutes time stood still for Barnsley fans !! Thank God for Stendel who doesn't appear to allow those sorts of tactics!
It's perfectly true, time does go faster as you get older.... something to do with levels of experience. As a kid you have no experience of anything so everything is new and special. As you grow older your life has filled up with life's experiences and you have nothing new to learn so time passes more quickly. Nothing new happens to make time stand still any more. Or this could be a load of ********.
I have in a number of decades gone from a youthful lightweight to fat bast*rd during which time has accelerated from my PoV. Having recently lost weight I have noticed no perceptive slowing of time from my PoV. This phenomenon runs counter to the accepted science.... Time does depends on gravity. The clock will tick slower at higher gravity than at lower gravity. This phenomena is also known as gravitational time dilation. Time is relative, and the time dilation is always experienced by the observer. Ha!!!! these scientist chappies like Einstein know nowt !!! Now where can I collect my Nobel prize???
Time last stood still for me when Odejayi went through on goal against Cardiff at Wembley. He's going to score...he's going to score... he's going to score...... hang on a minute..........................has he missed?
For some bizarre and strange reason I can’t get that penalty miss by Bob Doyle at home against Graham Taylor’s Lincoln City about 74/75season out of my memory . It’s as if it was yesterday and what’s bizarre is that there was nothing riding on it as far as BFC were concerned we were mid table . Taylor’s Lincoln City were breaking all sorts of records in the fourth div points, goals etc and we absolutely battered them did everything bar score Ally Miller was on fire that day and they scored the winning goal On a breakaway .
