But I don't think the owners can be in any doubt they've got their summer strategy wrong regarding bringing in experience, but they can't put anything right until January.

A very valid point and the communication, or lack there of, does them no favours

I’m not defending the owners or playing anything down, but WTF can you do when the opposition are gifted a 2 goal start. Today’s 2 acts of benevolence to the opposition in the first half were courtesy of 2 players who have hitherto previously been exempt from this.

Why do you think they will ‘put things right’ in January? That suggests they have the ability and the desire and that they give a sh*t.
I’d say the evidence suggests otherwise.

Let’s be honest in January we’ll be recruiting for division one and Hoping they are going to be good enough to get us back up.

All they are interested in is pound notes probably thought they would make a right killing on all these young uns they have bought in.They could not give a ***** about the team and the fans.
Well they will next summer when season tickets come around cos you can chalk my name off I,ve had one for the last 20 seasons ain’t been to the last 6 home games it,s depressing!

Yes that is very obvious and correct. Its also true that a large section of people cried out for experience and quality as the youth and inexperience were obvious. People felt we were making same mistakes again, and we have. By all accounts the board declined to entertain experience. Then the lack of engagement and communication amplifies the frustration and leads people to believe that there will be more chance of our best and experienced players leaving than some joining in January.

The following is the reply from Dane when experience was brought into the discussion on Wednesday:

“There’s a team below us, who has a ton of experience, big names, who are on high wages, that are very good players in their own individual right…"

    interjection

"…if we went through the CVs of that team that’s below us as opposed to ours and we said OK, if we had one or two of their players that are older and more experienced, would that make us better? I don’t think anyone could sit in this room and tell me if we had one or two of their players, if we had a Joe Allen or a James McClean or pick anyone…"

    Interjection

I didn't get the impression that there is any consideration that something may be wrong with the strategy.

Because why buy a club, for a considerable outlay, if you don't give a sh1t about what happens to it? I don't doubt their intention is ultimately financial gain but that will only come from onfield success.

On ability I agree and am to be convinced, although last season they did a lot of things right and have already started to address some of the criticisms of the previous ownership model, particularly in extending contracts early and securing players on longer term contracts at the start. They've just made the same errors regarding adding and replacing experience and it's currently killing us.

I can see the OP's point of view on this and can fully understand the anger of the fans watching this week in week out( christ it hurts as someone who doesn't/ won't attend games due to the overpricing of football) but I can sort of understand why the owners won't say anything about the transfer window now. A comment of yeah we ****** up and signed **** isn't going to help the players at all, so backing has to be given. Come January maybe certain positions will be strengthened and things will be changed. Players who tak that as a slap in the face can b given time away from teh match day squad to get their heads in the right frame of mind etc. However this does not bypass a certain statement given regarding a certain former employee, who in my opinion deserved more and as fans if something untoward happened behind the scenes deserve more. I am however interested in the report that at the least Conway was in attendance when it would surely have been easier to avoid the game altogether( unless he was entertaining certain guest(s)??)

Absolutely agree, and made that point with many others in the summer. But with no loans until January they can't address that unfortunately. If January doesn't result in a reaction I will cease in trying to be a voice of reason.

Id love to pick his brains after today when McClean won them the penalty to put them 2 goals up and Joe Allen scored to get them their 3rd.

they are, but, those 2 today are also young and relatively inexperienced, it’s no coincidence that as a team we make lots of individual errors, it’s because we’ve got a team full of players who are more likely to make them. Young and inexperienced players. These mistakes won’t suddenly stop.

league position is irrelevant to the business model. In fact you could argue that a successful L1 season Creates more sellable assets than a failed Championship one.

That's frustrating, because I guess we'll make the exact same mistakes we did under the latter years of Cryne's ownership, which is such a shame because I believe the strategy is absolutely sound bar that one element

Yep i get you. I think January will be too little too late if at all anything positive. A good start is what we needed, not a catch up end. If we aren't mathematically down, we certainly will be spending / selling with one eye on L1 and a lower future income.
