If we had this current squad from the start

I'm not worried. I've seen some **** players turn out for this club, if we were getting completely outclassed like we did for many years before we went down maybe I'd agree, but that isn't the case. This isn't like when we had Kennedy, Wiseman, etc on the books, this is a decent team that has lost some competitive fixtures. We're not a million miles away.

Exactly. The board decided in January we weren't going up and we weren't going down. And that's what's happened - rightly or wrongly.

As a result of that gamble we have somewhere between £7 and £10m more than if we had rolled the dice and kept the 3 players in January and still hadn't gone up (who knows).

The only thing that will both annoy me and concern me is if we don't now invest that money in the playing squad. I'm convinced we will. And I think Hecky will be backed like no manager has in recent years (if ever) in getting the exact players he wants come the summer.

Annoying result today. Just like Wigan. we should have been at least 6 points better off, and heading for top 10. I look forward to the summer. And really hope we can get our recruitment right. If we do I think we'll start next season in far better shape than we started this season. When we lost 4-2 to Ipswich I thought we were in for an awful year. And would be on the end of some spankings. Neither have materialised. So we regroup, recruit, and come back stronger.

    Only my opinion.

All teams concede goals regardless of who plays in their defence, it's an absolute fact.

Roberts being injured, and being replaced by a full back isn't ideal, and certainly didn't help our cause in any way.

He's our captain, and first on the team sheet, and we had kept a clean sheet up until he left the field.

Speaking of central defenders Fitz (and any other fan on here of course), do we still have an option on Lewin Nyatanga ? And I did ask this on here a while back. Im not sure when his contract runs out or if it has already, but I know we loaned him out to Northampton for the season. I was a fan of Lewin's a few years back and think he was attacked unfairly by fans at the time of Wilson's sacking and Johnson's appointment 2 seasons ago.

No Lewins contract runs out end of the summer. Expect us to go in for Arron Pierre at Wycombe (although depends what happens about him allegedly nutting a fan...)

So we're interested in a nutter ? I didnt know Vinnie Jones was still playing!! :p
Ive not heard of this player at Wycombe, and seeing as they have a chance of the Lg Two play offs, surely thats nowhere near being decided yet.

Lewin Nyatanga is the Tiger Woods of central defenders.

Reckon we'll be having a good look at Sean Raggett from Lincoln. 23 year old 6 Ft 6 CB who has earned an awful lot of plaudits across various competitions this season.

Millwall have been linked amongst others.

I have to say I wasn't a fan of Nyatanga.

I think Johnson was though, and accommodated him for far too long.

I don't think it's any coincidence that our fortunes changed when, amongst other things like changing to a 442, bringing in hammill he dropped Nyatanga for Williams or White.

We lost to Wigan because Davies made two howlers and the ref was atrocious.

Abrahams bossed our back line as soon as Roberts went off. In the first half he was in Roberts back pocket.

Roberts was also picking up Flint from corners.

    I stand by my statement.

To be honest this is complete nonsense because if we had this squad from the start of the season the board would've tried to significantly strengthen the team in January
