    It was our 36th wedding anniversary yesterday, our daughter is married and our son will be at the end of this month. I am on balance in favour of marriage that is entered into with real consideration as to the commitment being made, not just an excuse to get dressed up and have a knees up because if it doesn't work out there's always divorce.

    However the stereotypical image of single men visualised by IDS of behaviour akin to feral extras from 'Men behaving badly' makes my mind boggle.

    Also if marriage is so 'strong and stable' how come one in two ends in divorce unleashing another rash of single men back into society ? ;)

    Actually when I was reading the article I admit I don't know much about the Huffington Post and I initially though it was one of those 'Daily Mash' type things.

    Oh I give up :confused:

    Ha I doubt even the Daily Mash could make us some of the stuff the Tories come up with but no the Huffington post is actually a proper news site though its well to the left of say Fox news or the Mail online :)

    I thought that was the translation from latin of the tory motto... *allegedly*

    Had the displeasure of reading a very detailed book recounting the build up to brexit and the aftermath. Staggering in so many ways but had direct access to politicians, spads and various people involved in the various campaigns. Not to mention the duplicitous nature of many of the tory ministers on both sides of the line.

    Also frightening the open immoral views of Dominic Cummings (vote leave), essentially, didn't care if lies were told as long as people believed them and it helped them to win. Not sure how we can call a democracy such when blatant lies are encouraged to win, and zero penalty results.

    This is a most unwarranted attack on golfers.

    Ian says "People join golf clubs and they sign up for the most absurd things that you have to do, wearing trousers, shoes, all sorts of things."

    As a golf club member, I never signed up to wearing anything so absurd as trousers or shoes.

    I was always on the first tee, in underpants and wellingtons. Nothing else.

    With such a radical and exposed physical appearance, it was only fair to ban women from the course.
