Would you wear your teams shirt, hat, sticker in car window etc?

It's astonishing how many times I see people out and about wearing Leeds shirts at the same time as the team is actually playing, or about to, so you know their not going.

Mostly Leeds, but quite a lot of Man United and Liverpool as well.

I don't wear any colours and go to the games, can't imagine wearing the shirt if I never went.

Wouldn't you feel a bit of a fraud?

When I used to live in town and was walking to the game I always used to think any bloke walking in the opposite way to Oakwell must be confused/lacking something in life.
To be honest it doesn't surprise me. Used to work with a staunch Evertonian (or so he professed), had the shirt etc, etc. Never went to a game in eight years. I don't get it.

Work with a guy who is a big Liverpool fan. And he did used to go at Maybe half a dozen times a season. Doesn't go at all now says it has just gotten way too expensive.

I elected not to get a season ticket the first year back in league one for the first time since the prem season mainly down to work commitments at the time. And I just felt a total disconnect from it all ended up get a half season ticket. If I was just watching on tv wouldn't feel the same at all.

That's the one that gets me the most supporting man u, Liverpool one of the London teams ect I couldn't not go to live football games, watching on the box doesn't even compare as a experience.

Yeah I'm sure he said in past they knew some season ticket holders who would sell them tickets for the "lesser games" to off set the cost of a season ticket. Not a bad idea really if you can't make all the games. But with the increase of the football tourist at these clubs the prices just go up and up.

Suppose it's the same at all the top clubs. I've heard of man u fans being practically forced into buying cup tickets or risk losing seats.

I don't go any more because (a) it's too expensive and (b) I have difficulty with crowds which is why my football these days is at non league level. Having said that, I still love my club with a passion and have no problem wearing the shirt even when watching lower league stuff.

AFC Emley & Brighouse Town generally but if I'm near any other ground on a Saturday when I'm away then I'm in.

Good on ye. I do like a bit of non league myself. It's nice to just relax and watch a game rather than fret over if we're going to win or lose.

A mate of mine was a fanatic Liverpool fan (went to 2 European Cup finals back in the 70s, he was on the Kop when Gary Sprake threw the ball in his own net), he's not been for over 20 years and I've never seen him wearing a Liverpool shirt (known him since 1980 ish). He lives in Bristol now and the only matches he's been to have been with me to watch Barnsley at Bristol (several times), Yeovil and Swindon.

    It takes all sorts.

I went to watch Liverpool a few times while I was at uni. First game I went to was in 1988 - arrived at Anfield 20 minutes before kick off and paid about 3.50 to get in. Sad that my daughter who's a fanatical Liverpool fan can't get to watch her own team play.

I did the same back in 1981 I cant remember the exact entry price but I think it was £1.80 to go and stand in the Kop. Went to quite a few games the 3 seasons I was there both league and Europe - oh and one game in the away end when my real team came and held them to a goalless draw on a foggy January night in 1982. Its a real shame if the local fans cant get tickets anymore
