I had a look at processing times for work visas for skilled workers: Currently about 8 weeks. I then checked if there is an appeals process should the application be refused. There is, it usually takes between 6-12 months. That Thor Hammer fella was in and out of the country, applied for his visa and had his judicial appeal heard over a weekend.
Considering how long it takes to process a visa application... We'll never know, but that occurred to me too. How can you be refused a work permit a week after a manager is sacked and there be no overlap if it takes 8 weeks to process the application?
It Thalhammer is the kind of bloke that passes on sensitive info to random people on facebook and then publishes an article about how he missed out on a job that's still open, we've dodged a bullet. He seems a right plank. If either or both of those things are not true, we had no plan for sacking Collins. Neither reflect very well on the people running the show.
Is it possible that there is a fast track process for "big money" industries? I'd imagine that a professional sportsman would bring more value to the economy than a care worker on not much above minimum wage.
I am sure this is the case, otherwise how would players get visas within a couple of days of signing in the transfer window.
Either way it's not a good look. We've either gone behind Collins' back about 6 weeks ago, or we've not done the due diligence to understand the Visa process. Again. Not sure what's worse tbf.
