In reality we're all pissed off, in varying degrees aren't we? No hard feelings mate. I probably bit too hard...
Can you post a list of these "better things" please? It might help me, because I'm programmed to support Barnsley through thick and thin, irrespective of results.

As a season ticket holder and being quite tight I never thought I’d say this but. A couple of weeks ago instead of the match I went on a real ale pub trail of West Yorkshire railway station pubs and then had a lovely meal with friends. Didn’t really think about the match once. On the 30th I’m off to cork for the weekend. ( cost of flight less than I spend on a Saturday going to the match). I can’t imagine that being less fun than today’s game.
Like some of you I won't be renewing next season UNLESS something changes.... and I don't know what that might mean. I don't know where you travel from but I have a 100 mile round trip. The more I remind myself of that the easier it becomes not to renew.
There's 4 of us n kids who've been going for 30 years, not kids obviously. Just me and my lad today and we lasted an hour. All rest couldn't be arsed.........
Sad, sad days. I won't be renewing next season, but the reasons run a bit deeper than just the owners. I'm afraid they're symptomatic of football in general these days. Money has ruined the game I once loved and means survival and sustainability have replaced any ambition. The authorities do very little to make FFP have any impact and the gulf between clubs and divisions makes the game incredibly predictable. Barnsley can now only hope to compete in the third tier due to their financial constraints and the huge drop in quality makes the value for money poor in my opinion in that division. I'm also utterly sick of seeing stonewall penalties and other decisions go against Barnsley in the Championship. Some may disagree, but as a rational human being I've seen enough evidence over the years and we don't get a fair crack. The current owners, consciously or otherwise, have made us a laughing stock this season and it really feels like a tipping point has been reached for me.
The majority on 4 year contracts as well, I don't think atm anyway, we would recoup the money(s) we paid for ANY of our summer signings. Remember a few years ago when we were selling our good players and many folk, including myself were saying why did we only offer a 2 year contract on him or him, I think the current squad just reiterates why you shouldn't. Sometimes it pays off of course it does but it's hard to see a positive atm with the players we have.
suspect that some will shine in league one and then get sold to line someone else’s pockets that isn’t something I can’t buy into And for that reason, I’m out.
I’ve no idea what I will do re renewal will make that descision next spring. But I must admit making a 400 mile round trip isn’t too appealing - though I don’t do it just for the football. Can’t say the 200 mile drive home last night in dark in pouring rain with loads of spray on the M1 was enjoyable especially after the afternoons “entertainment “
And another thing.... Will the extortionate pricing policy be maintained in league one? They'll have to abandon that AGAIN cos for certain nobody will pay 30 quid and more to watch this tripe.
Only going for the social side of it at the minute. And I usually miss mid week games. Can't even be arsed to go into Town for a pint before the match now, as you have to walk via Monkbretton or Kendray to get to the ground.
Forget the reds go and spend time with the little one. I'll recommend Cannon hall farm for starters You'll regret not spending more time with them.
I’ve been taking my two sons to Oakwell since they were old enough to see over the old boundary wall. My wife always called it a form of child abuse. Three grandkids now have season tickets as well. My feelings of guilt are profound!
It's a strange feeling now, you want to win obviously but you expect to lose and its not as bad as it as been, its sort of the norm!
