To appease their new found Ukip supporters. It's that simple.

Do you have a link - I've not seen anything to this effect.

Not saying it's not the case - just saying I haven't seen it and would be interested to read about it.

A campaign based on lies and party politics on both sides.
Once Brexit is negotiated it should be put back to referendum with the true facts
Whichever way the public vote will be truly democratic based on facts anything else is bullying by the neo leavers.

    Hadn't seen that.

Very interesting. Really can't understand the problem with that.

She could have countered with a general agreement - even having the ECJ input to our statute - and agree they could keep the ECJ if they like, but, whilst we'd keep the law - we wouldn't be listening to the ECJ.

And then she could have blamed them for holding their citizens in limbo.

Rather than fecking it up right royally like the useless bag she is.

Seems daft doesn't it? For someone who has held some positions of the highest authority she does seem clueless.

Argue about the big things not stuff like this.

Cameron got no serious concessions because he told Merkel he expected to win the referendum 70/30...it removed any imperative to offer a deal that could swing a referendum on a knife edge.

I wonder how much gall the british "negotiating" team have? There's zero depth and the fundamental reason they've trotted out the illusion of keeping negotiation points the closest guarded secret ever (like that holds in politics!) is because they have no idea how to tackle this. So to turn up at negotiations with nothing but empty statements on a wing and a prayer, well... they should be embarrassed at their lack of rigour.

Thankfully (though of course, it will be decried as a terrible bullying by the EU), the EU have better negotiators and have a more transparent framework to work through and will guide the negotiations.

All in all its the most ridiculous car crash. Nobody knows whats happening, including the people supposedly having the talks, we have a minority govt who cant even make an agreement with the DUP and a clock ticking that's ticked far too far already because of the election fiasco.

We've had many an incompetent politician in my years, but never this many at once and with the ultimate ability of causing damage that could last generations.
