Another thread about Winnall? Can we have a New Years resolution that we stop talking about him?
For the sake of team harmony and getting the fans onside there has to be better options out there. His childish celebration, photo on the day of the funeral, he clearly worked an exit leaving the club no choice, the fact he appears to be unpopular amongst his colleagues wherever he goes - it's a no from me.

Butterfield would make a difference in this team if he’s the same player he used to be. Put him in a central midfield 3 behind Bradshaw, might add the spark we need.
Wednesday would never send him back if he was going to come to us though.

    Welcome back ST

The signing on meeting would have included SWFC Chairman/Director(s)/agent/legal representatives.
Whilst Rimmo was a BFC legend I don't think the fact his funeral coincided with Winnall's signing-on was reason to delay the high level meeting.
(For all we know Winnall may have asked for a postponement.)

The fact is Winnall did a brilliant job for us - lets not keep bashing him for some imaginary transgression.

Nah. We've had some finishers since Payton that I'd pick ahead of Winnowt - Jan Aage, Ashley Ward, both out and out strikers and they offered more with their back to goal too. Both excellent finishers.

Overall there are a team full of players I'd have back before Mr Big Stuff.

Neither of those were finishers in the Payton/Winnall sense. Ashley was the archetypal target man who could link play and score (we could do with him now) Fjortoft was an international class forward who had seen better days but again not the archetypal finisher. They are different types of forward and of course better than Winnall. Both are a little old to have back now...

Of course Winnall managed to do summat no forward has since Joicey in scoring 20 league goals for us.
