It's one of those throw away terms that some people hear then re-use even when it's neither accurate nor appropriate - a bit like 'they don't want us to get promoted'. I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that some of our fans have already decided that it's time for a change.
Yeah some do repeat things parrot fashion. Another favourite is "he's lost the dressing room!" Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I remember my dad saying that on many occasions in 1996/7 even just before the Bradford game. I think it was his way of not building his hopes up before the (almost) inevitable failure. I still don't think he could believe we'd actually done it as we walked over to see the mark on the post at the Ponty end where Sundgott had hit it with the goal gaping....
I remember a game when a bloke near me spent 90 minutes having a right go at John Stones when he was about 17. I bet that gave his confidence a boost....
Yup, totally agree. Another couple of asinine, but popular, comments are "He's lost the plot" & "He's been found out".
God knows. Nivver seen hime before. Doubt I will again. Was funny thought when others started joining in with his constant clapping. I'm saying though that he didn't know what day it was...
Round about that time, I was in our local club and some old blokes were playing dominoes and talking about football. One of them just piped up "Barnsley?! Then dunt wanna go up! Can't afford to go up!" It just rolled off his tongue without any thought, and all his mates nodded in agreement. Bet none of them had been to oakwell for decades, if at all.
