Had a think about it all whilst driving home today, and it's shrewd business by BFC as far as I can see. BFC no longer want DS, for whatever reason, but to get rid they must pay off the remainder of his contract. Instead, they put him on 'gardening leave' knowing that his stock is still fairly high, and that he'll have admirers. Rather than paying lump sum, he's still on a salary, and now BFC will get his severance pay, by way of compensation from Hearts. They have got rid without paying a penny, and maybe even made a bit out of the deal.
Goldthorpe red isn't FROM Goldthorpe. He lives there now but is t originally from there. He's from thurnscoe originally and his previous username was darfield red remember
All depends where the savings/profit goes really. If they used the money to pay the wages of a decent player, I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it, but I won't hold my breath.
I meant it's more morally bankrupt to dismiss somebody but do so in a way that you control their life for such a long period.
In normal walks of life, I would agree, but we're talking big money. No one will be out of pocket, and Daniel has had a nice paid break, whilst his agent touts him around various other clubs.
