To be honest we have been disappointing for a month or two now. I know it, you know it and so does Daniel Stendel and the coaching staff if truth be told. We are still in a good place despite our recent away form but we do need to improve and soon. I felt sorry for Dan S in his interview after Wycombe match. He seemed genuinely down and that combined with his limited command of the English language meant he was unable to fully express his bewilderment and disappointment with the performance. However I feel that he is a man's man but on this occasion does need to give the players a ballacking and kick up the arse. Plus tactically we need changes to how we are playing cos he hasn't got the players with the nous or ability to play in the style he wants. We are carrying too many passengers with a poor attitude who need to earn their wages or bugger off. COYReds!
I have less concerns about Stendel than the deficiencies in the squad he's got to work with. Sorry if doom and gloom but we've got five games against top eight teams before he can realistically do anything about it.
Felt exactly the same about his post match interview. Looked completely shellshocked as to how bad we played and just couldn't communicate it. Agree entirely (FWIW) with your comments!
didn't see yesterday's interview but in my opinion the improvement in his english eems to have ground to a halt, i wonder if he's preparing to move back home.
I've seen a team who's form has dipped, a group of players that some of them have not quite been as consistent or confident as they were in the early parts of the season, I've seen teams and opposing managers perform well to prove its not a pub league, I've seen a manager who is still trying to find his best team and come to terms with a new league, I've seen some great games and goals this season but I haven't seen passengers with poor attitudes in our team. Cavare at times has been fantastic and other times struggled or made mistakes and still has a lot to improve on and Mcgheehan who has come back from a serious injury and learning a new way of playing and again has areas to improve on, if it's these players or any others they are not passengers with poor attitudes but young players learning and trying to get better.
IMO.1. Thiam... Good shot but that's it. No blistering pace, never seen him head the ball, can't dribble. I have yet to see what attributes he has but apart from a good shot yet to see any. Hedges... can't change pace, slow, not able to cross with accuracy and powder puff Isgrove... Too injury prone Cavare... not able to defend consistently and dodgy temperament Pinillos.. as above.. But better temperament, however not ruthless enough at full back as in the Phil Chambers, Jo Joyce could who defended first then went into attack when required. Cameron McGeehan. Laboured and lacks bite in telling tackles that means our mid field dominates the opposition. Goalkeeper who isn't stuck on the goaline all the match, comes to collect corners and can distribute the ball well. I think we need a Neil Redfern style midfielder who our young squad can look to and be inspired by to motivate and lead the team by encouraging or ballocked as the situation requires... Mick Mc Carthy style.
I read your analysis of the players & you point out the deficiencies you see in them, . but I do not see where bad attitudes come into it . The way I see it, we can find faults with all our players , after all they are all they are third division players but when I watch the reds , no player strikes me has having a bad attitude .
For example. Remember Cavare against Fulham, need I say anymore. Then at Accrington.. I the second half he goaded the accy rightwinger from the corner by patting him saccastically on the face and head as he came a cross to take the corner. Raising his hands around the blokes face was stupid and I couldn't help think.. as this silly bugger learnt nothing.(I was standing in that left hand side when I saw it). Teams eg Donny have targeted him because of his lack of urgency to run back into position after an attacking forage. But don't take my word for it ask Grant McCann...
PS Don't get me wrong I like Dimitre but I still have niggling doubts about whether right back is his best position. He
I have niggling doubts whether a football pitch is the best position for him. He's more suited to a cage or ring
I believe DS is equally culpable. He needs to be coaching more pass and move and directing this forward quicker. The man on the ball needs an outlet, and that should be as many of his colleagues as possible. There was little evidence of this yesterday. I think he has, with maybe a few exceptions, the talent to do this.
I cannot disagree more, The owners stated they wanted to play a certain style of football . So they brought in a coach that could implement that style of football. The problem the coach doesn't have the players to play that way. The owners will have to show their commitment to the man they employed by giving him the players to play that style (they were there to see that rubbish yesterday) in January
I tend to agree, I cannot see a significant influx of players in January either. However if significant bids come in for Kieffer Moore, Pinnock and Lindsey then I can see a departure or two. It depends on the board and how committed they are to achieving success . I know Daniel Stendel was appointed to play in in a pressing style but the players he inherited may not be up to the task. Only Bahre and Dougall are players of his choice if he has infact any choice in recruitment. Plus other teams in the league have worked out how to combat our style, our defeat at Wycombe was an example. Park the bus then counterattack using long ball. So DS will also need to have a plan b if plan a is failing.
We have sunk to a new low really losing to wycombe wanderers. Absolutely shocking, utter ***** the players need to take a long hard look at themselves and so should the manager. Anomymous billionaires need to appear and spend some money.
Well apparently the owners were there on Saturday to witness the display against Wycombe, so they can see at first hand the weaknesses of certain players. I just hope they are willing to spend to strengthen the squad and not dish out that old catchphrase" we have to sell before we can bring in players". Reading a report written by Paul Heckingbottom, he became disallutioned when better players were sold off and he had no or little say in recruitment. I suspect DStendel is in the same position. Just hope the person or people who recruit new players aren't the same ones who appointed J Morais... Look what a disaster that was. Anybody who had looked at his management record should have known what the outcome of him would lead to..
