First of all, our son Christopher got married on the 2nd to his long time partner Becky, the mother to our two beautiful grandchildren. It took place in the lovely city of Chester, where he's lived for thirteen years. They had all their photos taken in the grounds of Chester Cathedral. Two days later, on the 4th, it was my 60th birthday. A perfect day spent over there with all the members of our little family. Then today, our daughter Laura was accepted on her MSC course, after being seriously ill for the past three years. She's tried twice to do her Masters, but extremely poor health has meant she's been unable to complete it. Now she's going to start doing her Masters at the University of Huddersfield in Analytical Bioscience in a couple of weeks. She still refuses to believe she gets her brains from her Dad, though! Also today, I've been invited to have a free screening for bowel cancer, due to my age, which I'll happily take up. Sorry for this personal tome, but we're extremely proud of our kids and their life choices. All this and we're unbeaten in the league so far this month!
I've never hunted for dinosaurs, yer daft bugger! My failing health has stopped my archaeological digs for the time being, sadly. Hunting for dinosaurs falls into the realm of paleontology.
Happy belated birthday Kev and many happy returns, Sounds a perfect family gathering and three points on Sunday should round it off very nicely .
Thanks, Marlon. Much appreciated, old mate. I know everything, whether on a political or football front, appears to be somewhat problematic at the moment. However, I just wanted to share our good news on the forum. After all, I've lumbered our bad news on here often enough, so I thought it'd make a pleasant change.
We went to Chester just before the Wigan game, old mate and got back last weekend. Otherwise I'd have obviously announced it(!)
Nice post Kev. Please give me best wishes and congratulations to Laura. I know it all started with her A-level History project on Lenin and Stalin!!!
Congratulations JLW - Chester is a lovely City - they've worked hard there to preserve the City's heritage - and of course a couple of miles to the West you're over Offa's Dyke in Taffland.
Fantastic post mate, great news for you and your family on all fronts. And a belated happy birthday too.
There's never too many positive posts on this bbs. Congrats Kev and all the best to the whole family.
Congratulations, Mr BL! I hit the big six-O last year and have found it all rather agreeable so far. Can't say I was as grown up as you about the bowel cancer screening invite though! I mean - two soddin' days they gave me. I hadn't even had time to get used to being an oldie!
Many years ago (as a student) I played cricket a handful of times on the field between the city walls and the cathedral. Its a beautiful part of the world. Many Congratulations to all
