    That's from 07:33 this morning which was before the 10:03 BBC interview where he claimed it was 'Just speculation'

    I doubt he was locked in talks overnight.

    The best tipsters in such situations are those that know the people offering the job rather than those that know the people who think they're going to get it. Even then, it's a long way from an exact science.

    Take Barnsley for example, you could know one of the board of directors personally, they may tell you every decision BFC are going to make, but you'd still end up backing the wrong horse most of the time. It's going to be Sean O'Driscoll, he turned us down, it's going to be Terry Butcher, he turned us down, it's going to be Craig Hignett, hang on, we've just won at home to Leeds and the crowd seem to be firmly behind Flicker, let's give him it. Three certainties, all wrong. It's going to be Micky Mellon, hmmmmm, poor showing at home to Yeovil, let's give Danny Wilson a ring. And we're no different to any other club. Nowt's done until the press conference.

    You can pass on information you receive, but you can't give out 99% certainties. Well, you can, but that 1% will crop up a hell of a lot.

    Not that owt's decided yet, Coyle could still get it.
