Looks to have massively improved since his time with us and his goal record with Posh is very decent. But 10 million is ludicrous. Suppose it goes to show the state of the game at the moment
Why did we have all these forwards whilst they were ****? Beckett, Parkin, Walters, Rodriguez, Wood, Toney off top of my head.
Say what you like about MacAnthony he always gets the best price for the players never sells on the cheap
Because he's mainly playing with strikers and they always play a style that allows the strikers to score goals. Smart system. They churn their forward line for big money like we've churned out central defenders.
I liked Tony when he played for us. I was hoping we'd sign him. Not that I rate him at £10 million like.
A blind man could see why we’re bottom of the league. It doesn’t change the fact that we can’t afford the majority of good players from English clubs.
If that is true then Cauley is worth £20m + I accept we are a feeder club, we always will be. We simply have to get a better return on our investment
The problem we’ve had recently is that our players tend to only come good when there’s 1 year left on their contract, which makes it hard to get top buck for them
I don't subscribe to that particular viewpoint - there is an art in negotiating, similar to playing poker, there's also the additional point that we can give can (falsely) give the impression of other clubs are interested. We simply need to maximise one sale at a time, even if it means we let one player go at the end of contract for nowt. Sales have to be managed correctly just the same as purchases. Sounds simple I know, but isn't that why we employ someone on a bloody good salary?
Article in the paper values Cauley at £7 million. Must say I don't agree with that. If Toney is worth £10 million, Cauley must be worth £12 million surely.?
I had a look at Peterborough’s recent outgoing transfers during the last summer's window. According to the figures I saw on transfermarkt they not getting the big fees that they like to bang on about
I think we got good money for Liam Lindsay. I don't think we did badly out of the Kieffer Moore deal either. Where we did fail miserably was with Ethan Pinnock.
