I have watched the Reds for more years than some of you have had birthdays, I`d like to think i can see a player before he fully develops.
But Jacob has never convinced me that he is a "Footballer" and by that i mean reading the game.He has a lot of attributes that the modern player needs, I just think if we got the chance to sell a player he`d be the one to go 1st, Id drive him myself to his new club.
I may be wrong, but archive this post.

I think he is good as a winger and his stats played in that position back it up. As a striker I dont think he is as effective but he is been played there because schmidt is no were near and no one else uptop can win a header. He has been hung out to dry for a while played as striker.

I think that Jacob is a natural athlete but not necessarily a natural footballer.

Good player. Few look good in a below par side. That's why when they get a bit of success their agents push them into a move. Another who will, in those cutting words, "outgrow Barnsley".

I think he might be able to play wing-back because he'd have the defensive cover behind him, but as a full-back in a standard back four I think he would probably struggle terribly.

He'd fit in well with the Williams sisters then

To be fair, I don't think either of them are that bad.

I felt Jordan was an horrific footballer during the promotion season, and said as much on here, but he has improved beyond recognition. Ben has not quite done what I had wished/expected/hoped. I remember a lot of fanfare when he arrived, and I would have hoped he'd be much further along than he is.

I realise I am hardly praising them to the heavens, but we've had a difficult season.

Other than Mowatt, in my opinion he's been our best and most consistent performer all season, whilst operating in numerous positions, under different coaching teams and with no real pre-season behind him.

Also one of the nicest kids you could ever wish to meet.

Be a shame when we lose him. Still very young, very raw, loads of development to come.

3 goals from 37 games and the coach thinks he's the best option we've got to play the lone striker role tells you all you need to know about the best transfer window ever.

When has he played as a lone striker? He's played as a split striker alongside Chaplin or Woodrow since Struber came in.

I really like him. He's young, he's raw and he's provided some crucial assists. I just wish he could improve on his finishing. I can count on one hand (literally) the number of times he's managed to put the ball in the back of the net from good positions this season and it's cost us points that would've given us a much better chance of staying up.

Thought he was brilliant out wide in a 4-4-2. Good in the air and our best bet for creating a goalscoring chance. Having to play to a different system has made him look mediocre. Strubers not a fan of 4-4-2 so he may need to move on to realise his full potential.

He's never played as a lone striker. But you know that. You just needed it to fit with your non-stop attempt to shoehorn in your PC misquote. :p

I think pretty much the opposite. He's young and raw but has progressed a lot since becoming a regular starter after Brad Potts left. Playing as a striker hasn't helped him and he's been off form since lockdown but that's to be expected from young players and ideally we'd have been able to 'rest' him for a few games. We don't have that luxury. My view is he'll be worth £several millions in the future. Opinions eh!

Are you really saying that everyone is misquoting Conway? Perhaps the exact wording isn't always correct but the sentiment is bang on.
