Got of your arse and found a job with no qualifications and could still afford to buy a house I'll wager. Tough times.

No one's saying you had it easy but neither did you have 1.5 trillion worth of national debt to deal with , caused by Thatcher/Regan free market policies . But of course you ll expect younger generations to be liable for that debt , even though they never created it .

I am. I reckon this guy in particular had it extremely easy and has been an objectionable, grumpy old sod the whole time regardless.

I guess that viewpoint is up for debate , but the narrative that there s no such thing as a free meal , a narrative pushed by the tory s is laughable when school leavers onwards are liable for debt not created by said school leavers .

No idea if this was true for Robert or not but it was certainly true for my parents. I don't mean it in any disparaging way as it's my mam and dad I'm talking about but it's just a fact. My dad worked down the pit until he was made redundant and after a series of jobs has worked in a meat factory for over 20 years. My mam worked for about 2 years in her late teens and hasn't worked since, she did get a small disability allowance but the Tories have stopped that. They had paid their house off by their mid-forties and have been mortgage free ever since. On one factory worker wage they brought up a family of 4 (and we never wanted for anything) and bought a 3 bed house, now two people can work full time in skilled jobs and not be able to afford to get on the property ladder.

In my house there’s an architect (me) and a manager of a high quality retail store in Leeds city centre (my Mrs) and we don’t stand a chance of buying for some time. “Never had it easier.”

So a massively over inflated mortgage and THIRTY GRAND on a car isn't 'a boat load' of debt? LOL

Modern Britain is the worst I’ve ever known. Worse than Thatcherism makes the 70s and 90s look like golden times. People in jobs use foodbanks. We have spruiked all the oil money away. Homelessness has exploded due to RTB. And we still run round bombing people that creates terrorists that kill our kids. We had it easy compared to kids today.
