Crikey, they want a lot (as in a very highly qualified/high calibre person) in return for a £37.5k salary.
I thought that! I checked it twice as I thought it must have been a typo. I have no idea what someone in that position in a Championship club is usually paid (I guess about that as that's what we're advertising) but I thought it would be way more than that. I probably imagined it would be about that a month knowing wages in football, even outside of football I'd expect it to be the higher end of 40k at least.
It makes you wonder what other non-playing staff are on at Oakwell considering the seniority of that post.
I think after we went through Admin and some of the info came into the public domain I was surprised to find I was paid more than Glyn Hodges...
Was he pushed or did he jump as I thought he was "one of our own" in the backroom ? And as I live out of tarn I never saw any news on this change . Anybody ?
Wasn't Burton head academy coach - in charge of coaching the kids? This role is head of coaching development, coaching the actual coaches. It might just be a retitle but it looks a different role to me. Given burton has left its unlikely to be a coincidence though so I imagine if it is a different role it's a slight reshuffling. I am though amazed at the salary given the required qualifications.
I think it's a bit like museums. There are so few jobs going in an industry in which so many people would love to work that everybody can afford to offer well below the going rate for jobs. Back in my data analysis days I considered going for a job in football (not with a club, mind you) but I'd have had to take a massive pay cut - it would have pretty much halved my salary, if I remember correctly, for a job that I thought was a bit of a step up in terms of responsibility.
