Yes it's taken me years to get around to it but read it cover to cover yesterday on my death bed........ yes it was touch and go!

Written with Matt Murray it's a warts and all read. I'd highly recommend it to any Red.

Top work. Very enlightening without making any excuses for the bad times and no glory taking for the good. Very balanced IMHO.

I agree CS. I read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoyed a couple of pints in the Hilton
Wembley with Gerry Taggart, Brendan O'Connell and John Dennis on the eve of the
FA Cup Semi-final against Cardiff. Bitterly regretted having to call the Administrators
in and to this day, remains a truly dedicated supporter. Got two books for Christmas.
" Feed the Beast" by Jon Parkin and " Quiet Genius" which tells the story of the most
successful Manager in English Football ever, the shy and unassuming late Bob Paisley.
Looking forward to reading both of them.

"Feed the Beast" is very funny but Parkin more or less admits he's as thick as pig-**** which I kind of agree with. Read it cover to cover in a day. The big surprise for me is that Jilly Cooper is a friend of his.

That surprised me as well. Obvious from her Foreword in the book, that Jilly thinks
very highly of Jon, during his time at her Club, Forest Green Rovers.
Only just started reading his book. He claims the best Manager
he ever had was Tony Pulis. Contrary to that, it doesn't seem he has a very good opinion
of Phil Brown or Craig Bellamy.
