Without wishing to our scorn on your outlook I wouldn’t swap the way we live our lives compared to the average Londoner for a million pounds
My grandma lived on an estate in camberwell and we tried, for sentimental reasons, to get a taxi there during the johnstones paint trophy weekend. All 3 taxi drivers refused to enter the estate and wait for us, even with payment upfront. Sad state of this lawless country we live in as I used to be able to wander about all over the estate as a young un.
I do realise it takes all sorts but I have to agree. I don't like any big city, give me open countryside any day. After about 12 hours in any city I simply run out of things to do. Sad I know......
The great thing with London is how accessible southern seaside places are and the stunning stately homes and national trust places in Kent Surrey and Sussex, the areas of natural beauty and chocolate box little towns and villages. Sad to say that there is so much to see and do compared to my more tender years in the north It does get a bit warm mind you... Give me 12 degrees over 30 any day!
I see what you mean. Loads of places like that in London which I have been to but I couldn't tell you where any of them are. I can't even think of the name of my favourite pub in London but unless I was with someone with knowledge, I would never discovered it. It's going to bug me now.
