He'll try to split the defence, that's for sure. He gets my vote anyway, that's democracy in action.

A Penistone that thinks it’s posher than Barnsley? Where did that come from? As a Barnsley born person living in Penistone due to my job I point out, I have never heard a Penistone person imply that Penistone is posh or posher than Barnsley. I have heard it implied many times by Barnsley people though. Angela Smith I believe is a Deepcar person not Penistone. From what I’ve heard there was no guarantee she would have been reselected as a candidate for the Labour Party.

Don't get why the lefties don't just join the Green party. Not going to get elected in any case.

I watched the debate in parliment about the mine workers pension scheme brought about by the Barnsley East M.P. last week and the amount of money this Tory govenment as took out of the scheme amounts to thousands of millions of pounds as an ex miner I listened to everyone who contributed my MP who represents Mining vilages like Dodworth , Silkstone , Silkstone Common, Gilroyed, Hood Green and Thurgaland a certain Angela Smith did not attend I emailed her and asked why she did not attend no answer came forth.
She also lied today ,she said she stood at the last General Election telling the voters that she did not agree with Corbyn, the literature she had posted through my letter box never said anything of the kind.

There is a Yorkshire party whether it's proper is debatable. Everything would benefit Leeds.

Good riddance to the Tory lite infiltrators. Everyone of them is a lousy constituency MP who have done nothing of late but try and undermine the party. They are not a Political Party and are being funded by a private company so they don't have to reveal which Right Wing donors or Foreign power, ie Israel is funding them. Their website is registered in Panama, a Tax Haven. I wonder why. They won't do the honourable thing and resign and stand as Independents.

It's my firm opinion that Britain is not and never has been a Socialist country. I sort of wish it was but it isn't and there's little chance of a true Socialist party winning an election.
A huge portion of Labour voters aren't actually Socialist they're just anti Tory and anti rich folk. Look at the massive percentage of the supposed Labour heartlands that voted for Brexit.
Anything that threatens the Tory stranglehold, improves the chances of fixing our utterly broken political landscape is fine by me. We'll wait and see.

Israel have a £1 million fund to remove JC as party leader. Didn't you see the undercover programme when the Mossad agent mentioned it. Israel have a lot of political interest in the UK and have no issues with interfering in our internal politics.

The Americans,Russians,Saudis amongst others also have a lot of political interest in the UK but you sought not to mention them by name. . .

That's something I've often thought about, though in reality I don't know if it is workable.

First things first, the First Past The Post system has to be binned in favour of a proportional system. FPTP is clearly not fit for purpose in any multi party system.

Just a quick aside. I wasn't in a good place yesterday and I was far too snappy and arsey (though I always reserve the right to be both!!!) with some decent people on here in this thread in particular, and just about anyone within earshot for most of the day. I know I'm opinionated, I know I don't agree with everyone on many things but aside from extremism either way, I generally am open minded and value others opinions, even if I ultimately disagree with them or not, and even moreso, even if it doesn't seem like it. So my apologies if I was too dog with a bone and used a shitty day to take my frustration out on others. Todays another day however, and 3 points will help even more.

When Corbyn came to the NUM to give a speech a couple of years ago, no MP attended. That says it all for me. Look at the Labour manifesto of 2017, if that makes me a left winger then I worry about how right wing some on here are. I stated before the EU vote that it would split the country down the middle, will make the next election very interesting.

Anti Israel and anti Semitic are two different kettles of fish but some are trying to link the two and cause dissent especially in the party .
I don’t know whether individuals are being targeted or not but being anti Israeli policy is not anti semetic .
There are Jewish people protesting against Israel , it is using bullying tactics and using its influence in America rather than negotiate or give up its land grabbing.
It is a far right govt supported by Orthodox religious zealots who despise the palastinians and their rights .
It is pretty much a political party thing as there are many on the Jewish community in Israel against the government it isn’t a unilateral People’s policy.
The Israeli far right have exploited the protection of America for years indeed they Hung three British sergeants in the resettlement days after the war and the good old USA stopped us from bringing them to justice .
I abhor almost everything this far right Israeli govt have done and I know not all the Jewish people support them just as our political system is divided .

Alun Davies about to leave due to Derek Hatton being re-admitted to the Labour Party. Another nail in the coffin.

When you look at all the hard work done by Kinnock, Smith, Brown and Blair to make Labour electable again in 1997 and now they've descended to allowing the likes of this joker back. The party is ****ed. Let's hope the moderate Tories link up with Chukka et al to rescue us from the mire.

I saw a tweet about Derek Hatton this morning and thought it was just a bit of gallows humour. Absolutely stunned its true. More moderate centrist labour people being bullied, threatened and considered evil and hounded out of the party by the momentum thugs and by official deselection threats. A trot who brought Liverpool to its knees is readmitted to the party. You just couldn't make it up.

Anyone else wondering where we'd be if the alternative vote referendum had passed?

It would've been the first step towards proportional representation and the breakup of the two party system. I don't know if Brexit would still have happened, but we'd have been on the way to creating something that looks like it's happening now anyway.
