Why do people assume that because we've been taken over by a very wealthy consortium that we are planning on world dominance? I include some of our own fans in that.
I've not noticed anyone expecting anything on the level of world dominance ... but first and foremost staying in this division then going forward step by step from theer FK Leeds...
In China they definitely know where Barnsley is. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/rel...-70-million-Chinese-to-Boots-in-Barnsley.html
A lot of people do need a reality check. We aren't going to be spending anywhere near as much as some people seem to think.
It's just initial reaction .. still none of us know what their actual plans are. Only time will tell. One part that surprised me was the 20% not owned by chien Lee and co and 50% of the ground etc not owned by them either .Reading between the lines it sounded as if it was something they were hoping to acquire.
Mr Conway specifically said they have a 6 month option to buy the Crynes' 50% of the ground, and that they intend to do so. He also said they really like the ground and said although it needed some improvement they didnt think anything major was needed.
I only listened to 2 or 3 minutes of the press conference.. What about the 20% ..any specifics on that?
The Crynes are retaining 20% with James joining the Board. Its exactly the same setup as Nice where 20% has been left in local hands with the current, local management team left in charge of day to day running of the club. Both Messrs. Lee and Conway were at pains to stress that Barnsley will remain a local club with a continuing strong focus on its position within the town and local community. All very encouraging to hear.
Did he say Crynes 50% , I must have missed that , I thought he said just an option for the club to buy 50% , if one of the owners already owns 50% why buy would the others buy it off him
