I took his post as implying that the testing was widening sufficiently that higher numbers were being recorded even though the prevalence of the disease was decreasing, which doesn't appear to be the case.
I get entirely where you’re coming from but I had a proper bout of the flu at a similar age and it completely poleaxed me for a fortnight. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy either. I don’t have the answers to how we can get back to some kind of normality from here. I do know one thing though, if we continue the way we are heading there’s going to be next to nothing left of the life we had before lockdown. There’s living and there’s just existing.....
This. ^^^^ I'm not underplaying the severity of people catching it either - I'm on immunesuppressants and I had a week in hospital with chicken pox at a time when I was regularly running half marathons. Viruses are nasty ****, particularly if you're susceptible but this is not the way. It's baby out with the bath water in extremis.
Agree completely. I don’t envy the people making the decisions. I’m just trying to set the record straight of those saying ‘it’s just a bad flu’.
I've blocked out tomorrow afternoon between 3 and 5 to start the analysis- unfortunately it's going to be tricky either side of that because I've got meetings. Hopefully we can start to get to the bottom of this then though, and then once the full analysis is done we can make a decision as to how best to present the findings, maybe early next week?
Have you thought why.? Restrictions in place being one of em. Testing for covid if you have it are pretty conclusive. Testing for antibodies to see if you’ve had it is not. You also have not taken into account the more susceptible have or are taking a lot more precautions. Nursing homes being a prime example in how it’s being approached. Your view that it is a faux pandemic appears to support an agenda for those that chose to ignore the guidelines. The spikes in areas are basically caused by people ignoring the pandemic and going about their daily routines as though there’s nowt to be concerned about. Tell that to the most vulnerable.
Easily sorted then isn't it? If you fall into the category of vulnerable, isolate. If not, go about your life as you previously would have done seeing as the death rate is beyond miniscule for those with no other co-morbidities. What is wrong with that?
They've gone from publishing hospital admissions every day during the briefings to being two weeks behind on this figure. I don't know why this should be the case.
Would help if the less vulnerable would at least help. Wearing masks. Social distancing. Instead of going to grandmas and having to stay outside . Cos they think it’s great to hang out with their mates irresponsibly. I’ve no criticism of those that are at least trying to follow the rules instead of going to pub no sense of distancing or partying with no thought that poor old granny cannot interact and indeed be locked up in solitary so to speak. The vulnerable would also like to live a life.
Those that go to the pub while they are waiting for the results of their COVID test should be locked up as well. There's just been another example of this in Stockport, following on from Aberdeen and Batley.
They can, but they make an informed choice, isolate if you want, or don't. Follow social distancing if you want, or don't. Where is the issue??
Agreed, it’s an absolute tw@ts trick of the highest order. I can’t believe it’s not a criminal offence when there’s all these other ****** rules, and yet this genuinely puts people at risk
It's not worth arguing with you. You're too far down the rabbit hole that you won't be able to see any sense.
I am trying to get my head around how it's not possible to arrange social distancing for any amount of fans in an open-air 23k stadium, but in a couple of weeks I'm expected to teach in front of 100 students from across West Yorkshire each day in a small room with a few windows open
So cases are rising because they are testing more ? This of course is the case but they are known as opposed to being hidden and free to spread to all and sundry
