Agreed. Scratching my head here trying to understand why some on here want to start dismantling AGAIN. Lindsey is a deceptively quick and a top player that's going to be at the club for years.
I'll be very disappointed if we sell Lindsay to them. Although I never expected the new owners to be silly with money, I do expect them to to improve things, otherwise what's the point? I appreciate that the money offered might be more than we can pay, but fecking Brighton? Lots of clubs out there that we are as good as. Brighton, Burnley, Swansea, Bournemouth just to name a few. Time to start believing it.
That would be absolutely fking barking!! Nowt like selling your best players to scotch the rumours that we are no longer a selling club
Given Stones, Holgate, mawson, Roberts, Lindsay and Pinnock as examples perhaps we should suggest to Brighton they give us £6 million and send them a name off our spreadsheet.
Ridiculous amount of money. We could get much, much better for much, much cheaper and a couple of other good players too. I wouldn't hesitate in accepting. If everyone was fit he wouldn't even be in the side for me. Not saying he's crap, but if we receive an offer way above what a player is worth then we should accept it and use all that money to strengthen the squad. Being financially secure doesn't mean we never sell, it means we only sell when it's right for us. It means we sell when we believe we can use that money to bring in new signing and have a stronger team than if we had kept the player. Everything about £6 million for Lindsey tells me that's exactly what this deal would be. It sounds way too much to be true so I don't think it is.
if we were to sell Lindsay for £6m and Mawson goes for £50m to West ham the new owners will have had back around £13m within a month of buying the club for how much?
In a couple of years he’s going to be as good as another former Patrick Thistle player who played at centre back, namely Alan Hansen.
He's destined for a top half PL side in a few year no doubt. Just hope we get a few years out him before we cash in
I just do not get this , there has been no reported approach from Brighton for Lindsay, the only connection being a few lines in a Scottish rag yet its enough to send this forum into meltdown , people are so ready to put two & two together & come up with a dozen
I agree in a way , 6m is too good to turn down , saying that he's been our best and most consistent player this season . If the player of the year was held now he'd win it . There's only one way you go when you flog your best players . We've been there before .
That's one of those responses that invites you to tell us where we would get much much better for very little outlay. And it doesn't explain why the time is right now, when we're a gnat's bollock from falling into the relegation zone and have two other central defenders struggling to play, to sell a player who will no doubt attract the same interest at the end of the season, and whom we need to keep us strong at the back. Not that I think he's worth 6 million. But we all seem to have to perpetually play catchup on player valuations. If Mawson goes for £25m or more then Lindsay's a snip at £6m.
When you think the money rumoured for Lindsay is roughly the same Southampton are offering for Jansson at Leeds. We are doing something right. Don’t kid yourself, he goes for the right offer.
Keeping tearing the team apart every transfer window and relegation is not so much a possibility as an inevitability. Yiadom and Lindsay stay. No reason at the moment for either to go, other than to improve players' bank balance.
