If things, tier wise, change and we're allowed for instance 2000 fans inside for home matches.

What's your opinion regards attending matches.

I'd want to go, just to show my support for the efforts the players have been putting in since we last saw them live on 7th March. Also happy to give everyone else a chance to do the same

Whilst I'd want to go to them all, I didn't select that as it wouldn't be fair. I also wouldn't chase days off as I have done in past years, especially if I can watch it on the internet and work at the same time.

I said at the time that it would be a dangerous precedent to take, showing the games live on iFollow. I wonder how many fans will just be happy to watch and not attend, especially when the weather is crap and/or cold

I'd love to be back on the Ponty, any game saturday or midweek, it doesn't matter. I'd even put up with wearing a stupid mask. The last game I went to was the cup tie at Crewe, seems like a lifetime ago.

I'd want to go to pretty much every game but as I'm boycotting buying a season ticket there's no chance. Only right that season ticket holders get first dibs.

May dad for a start ... well he can barely walk, but it saves the taxi ride, the walk from the back of the stand to his seat (which might seem like nothing to us), or watch it on the laptop on his knee. No choice really.

Personally, I'd rather be there, but when you think back of the arguing I've done to get days off or swapped, you think it's just easier this way.

I am happy to use Ifollow for now. I would only consider going to Oakwell when Barnsley is in tier 1, which is a little way off yet.

I'll go every time I'm invited... I'll be in the ballot & my attendance will be subject to the ballot rules + Lady Luck.

Id like to go to games again but as I am not in bubbles with the people I normally go with or sit by Id be on my own driving 200 miles to sit on my own in a crowd of 2000 doesnt have the same appeal. Especially as there is no way my Dad will go until its safe for him and its probably not smart for me to visit home if I drive up either so I think for now I am on iFollow

Not sure about that. I have no option and last season used iFollow. HOWEVER there is no real substitute for being there. It is OK if you have no choice but if you have the time and the financial resources it would be a trip to t'Well every time.
A Peep show -watching someone cavortng behind a glass panel- as opposed to actual sex is the nearest comparison I can think of ( AND:... for the record.... I have never participated in the former ;))

Which bit aren't you sure about? I know you live abroad so have no option.

I'm saying that people are getting used to watching it on "TV" and some will prefer to carry on doing so rather than attending live. So a dangerous precedent has been set I said.

and the graphic bit at the end of your message - I think we'll just ignore that as it's not relevant at all to the point I was making

Its frustrating on ifollow cos you can only watch what the camera shows. I sometimes like to concentrate on one player, particularly when they are new. Plus you can see more of the "off the ball" movement by players.

Ooh! Matron!! Don't be so prudish. The analogy was in that that watching from a distance means you miss the sights, the sounds and above all the atmosphere the cameraderie, gallows humour, from other fans, when stuck behind glass. The walk to the ground and back, the pre match pint etc. iFollow Better than nothing but far removed from the real experience. Get the analogy now?;)

I do hope that anyone who doesnt live in Barnsley will be attending a game should they be lucky enough to attend.

Going to Oakwell isnt an "essential journey" ;)

Prudish me! Get a grip man!

You've missed the point I was making by a country mile! I agree about all those things you mention. The point I'm making is that the longer it goes on that people aren't able to watch live due to watching on "TV", the more they will be getting used to not attending - that's my point
