    1-2 another bit of questionable defence. I am very nervous about Fulham, we seem to have set up a ‘we will score more than you’ approach against our will.

    A few putting it about a bit tonight. Very niggly. Either he has told them to toughen up or the lads are frustrated and losing their heads.

    A wins a win but I am critical of defense. Swap a couple of their strikers for Fulhams and that makes me nervous. Cut open very easily.

    People need to remember this is pre season. 9 new signings different defensive line up in all friendlies so far with different tactics and a change of keeper. It’s always going to be experimental I’ll cast judgement come September once they’ve all unpacked and stendels had a better look at the new signings and how best to set up.

    I thought this was a forum where we could discuss our opinions of Barnsley FC?
    Well mine is that our defence do not appear to be championship standard and so we urgently need an addition with some experience and quality to steady the ship.
    I do not understand this attitude recently on here that opinions can be positive only. For example I found the attacking to be excellent and reason for celebration, but feel that we will be in serious trouble if this is the defence we go into the season with.
    You seem to have a real issue with my opinions recently, might I suggest you use the ‘ignore’ function if you don’t like them.

    While i think it's far too early to say they arent upto championship standard, its not out of the question to start worrying about how the defence are gelling and working together this early. We have to remember we've completely replaced our goalkeeper and two centre backs so they have to get used to how the team play, how each other play and how the game in the English Championship is.

    We won't be seeing a fully functioning defence for a good few month i think unless Stendel and his backroom staff work a miracle.

    I thought the two central defenders looked decent in the tackle and comfortable on the ball. We did get opened up three or four times too many though and their player skipped past the pair of them for the goal.
    Sibbick did some nice stuff. Ben Williams had a really good half I thought. Collins didn't have much to do thanks to their strikers being incapable of hitting a barn door.

    Need a lot more evidence to make a real judgement. Early days.

    I know, you've told us many times now. I'm not arguing the opposite, that they are Championship standard. I'm saying three pre-season friendlies isn't enough time to write them off as you are.

    No issue, I like your constant and often hysterical whining. You've plugged the gap well since SuperTyke departed. In fact, are you SuperTyke's son? :D
