Best of luck to him. Glad our fans take so much joy in a talented young lad whose career has been ruined by terrible fortune. Lot of class.
Agree with this....such an odd thing to celebrate...not like it's Lloyd's fault, is it? "Haha you could be a pretty decent footballer if you weren't crocked...IDIOT"
I wish him all the best. It's a shame that all his injuries have probably stunted his development in the early years of his career. He always showed potential, but never quite managed a good run to play, learn and improve.
Good player on his day able to change the entire tempo of a team with his pace both going forwards and backwards. Unfortunately he has fallen foul of the curse of the modern footballer spent too much time not playing whilst developing and when it came to playing more his body wasn’t ready for it. Hopefully he will get game time and fitness with swindon. I wish him nothing but the best.
He wasn't injured most of last season. Stendel just didn't pick him. I've heard because he didn't train hard. He liked a laugh and a joke but wasn't that in to football.
Less than 80 league games and he's knocking on 27 years old. Think that speaks volumes. Most players would do that in 2 seasons. Apart from his Wembley goal (which I'll always be grateful for) I can't think of another significant contribution football wise.
I don't think any of it will be malicious in intent. It's the type of banter that he probably gets 10 fold in the dressing room. Whatever Lloyd's failings on the injury front, he has done something none of us will ever do - pull on a red shirt and grace Oakwell. Some players will be remembered for their hair - Currie etc. Some for how crap they were; Regis etc. Some will be fondly remembered for keeping the physios in employment. Lloyd will join the likes of Gridelet, Dixon and Kell as ghosts of the treatment table. I wish him well.
I thought he was mustard the final couple of months of the promotion season. Other than that he's probably made the wrong decision in staying at Southampton too long and has been very unlucky with injuries. Best of luck to him I really hope he does well at Swindon.
He was awful when he joined on loan and got better and stronger every week until, arguably, he was our best player at the end of the season. Didn't work out for him but best of luck, we don't have too many Wembley goals in our history.
as said the run up to the end of season in pomotion season he was great - epsecially the game at wigan when we trounced em to get in playoffs.Awesome game that.
